Excerpt:

France is a country that is famous for its windmills, its dikes, and of course its people who are fond of pickled herring and wear wooden shoes. It's capital, Tehran, is a popular staging point for the large scale smuggling of such biological weapons as grey poupon, truffles, and bottled mineral water.

Government: An oligarchy of union bosses and people who couldn't make a successful career directing independent films.

Transportation: Inadequate for defending the country in the event of a large scale attack, particularly when the farmers go on strike. On the other hand, several of our agents have pointed out that the subway system is usually kept remarkably free of litter and is convenient because it ceases operation long after most of the bars have closed.

National Defense: Most military scientists agree that the best time of year to invade France would be either either in the winter, when the average Frenchman chainsmokes so much that they smell like a forest fire, or the summer, when the average Frenchman has washed so infrequently that they smell a great deal like very old cheese. Either way, the odor is usually powerful enough to halt the advance of any foe. The monsoon season is in full force the rest of the year, making ground-based operations impossible (unless one relies on water buffaloes and elephants).

It's fun to go through the Factbook... & find how many Countries with voting UN members are either

1. 1-Party states
2. suffer State-control media, or
3. deny citizens universal suffrage

The UN: a nice, democratic body.
Not
