Injured dog finds way to hospital - (Hold muh leash)

BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) It was canine intuition when an injured black Labrador retriever did a doggone good job of getting medical attention.

The dog, apparently struck by a car on July 4, found his way to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, hobbled through the sliding glass doors and waited for assistance in the hallway.

50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund is then due. The team is about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopps them and decrees that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee's interpretation of fairness. After all,if the refunds are made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the wealthiest ticket holders. That would be unconscionable!

Its straight out of the Twilight Zone. I mean talk about supernatural knowledge. How does man's best friend even know what a hospital is? The beasts are said to lack souls and sentience. Well then how does one explain this? Its eerie.

It's a black lab about seven years old... is it possible it is a retired seeing eye dog or something of the sort? It could easliy explain how the dog new to go to the hospital.

I'm a dog lover. Never met a dog I didn't like or want to keep. At one time I owned 26 dogs. While I'm sorry the dog got hit, this is a happy story to start out my day with. If the vet can't find the dogs owner I hope someone at the hospital will adopt this wonderful creature. BTW, dogs do have souls. I've seen and heard one of my dearly departed.

This sounds like the dog in the Dean Koontz novel. Can't remember the name right now but it his best book, IMO.

I do not know whether animals have souls. I know from observation that animals, especially those domesticated by man, have intelligence. Their level of intelligence does not approach man's, but they are capable of complex feelings and extensive memory.

As to souls, well; I have known animals who'se personality and friendship I treasured more than most humans I have met. While not a dog person (I am a cat person), I recognize those traits I love in my cats are also in dogs (however, I must proclaim cat superiority, they would if they could type). I would hope that when I pass God would grant that I would be reunited with my special cat friends who have passed before me.

Black labradors are wonderful dogs, they are calm, loyal and gentle with children. I have a wonderful photo of my son at 18 months with his grandmother's black lab. He tossed a tennis ball to play with Scuzzy, the dog returned with the ball, but held it in his teeth. No problem, my toddler son tugged on Scuzzy's lower jaw, stuck his hand in and removed the ball. They continued playing for hours afterwards. Black labs are great and learn quickly.

The hospital workers were excellent in taking care of the injured lab.

The answer is yes. However, they don't have 'immortal' souls. The definition of the word 'soul' according to the theological aspect is 'that which gives life'. The soul is the animating and vital factor which leaves at the time of death.

Humans have immortal souls.
