It's too late for me to be coherent any more (if I ever was). I don't think that I said that I thought you believed Sharpton; if I did, I apologize. But in a sense, you have fallen into the trap. We aren't discussing whether a sitting president should be impeached for murder because no one has said anything about a president murdering anyone (well, not the current President, anyway). But you are trying to get people to say that a president who lies to get us into war should be impeached ..... and you wouldn't even be thinking about it if Sharpton hadn't raised the issue.

If it's ever proved that George W. Bush lied about this, then I'll be willing to discuss the matter of impeachment. In the meantime, I personally find such a discussion so irrelevant as to be distasteful .... because it's predicated on the ranting of a known liar and fool (Sharpton, not you).

I must get a little sleep tonight. I've enjoyed our dialog. It's all too seldom that such a discussion takes place on FR without name-calling any more .... used to be this way all the time ..... *sigh*

I watched Al on Hannity and Colmes. The bottom line is what he said was if the President or the Vice President intentionally lied, impeachment hearings should be conducted. I'm not a defender of "Big Al the Kiddies Pal" even though he's entertaining, but he never said that they were lying. And if they were lying God forbid, I agree with the guy that they should be impeached.

We already know.
Alot of what is being reported is incomplete, purposefully misleading, or outright disinformation.
John Gibson on Fox's The Big Story took on Bianca Jagger over this same nonsense and he had his facts right in front of him regarding the Niger matter. He blew her outta the water and she was reduced to the "what if what if maybe" imaginary conspiracy.
I'll also add that Congress was briefed constantly over the Iraqi and other intel, so any of them who act like they knew nothing are full of it.

Sharpton is obviously a demented racist. But it is true that if Bush knowingly and intenitionally went on national television and lied to the american public and congress about Saddam's capabilities..... well yeah.... then he should be impeached.

And we didn't believe that when we were told it. So if it turned out that Bush acutally intentionally lied to us about Saddam's capability... we still wouldnt' believe that lying is an impeachable offense.

If Bush really did that (and I don't think he did) and we gave him a pass.... then we are no better than the Clintonians who gave him a pass.
