I didn't say that. I was merely asking why are Sharpton's words are so funny? I would hope most Freepers would agree that any President who knowingly lied about intelligence that lead us to war should be impeached. I don't think Sharpton's comments are controversial. Of course such knowing lies should demand impeachment.

Sharpton has always been known as a racist demagogue and a worthless huckster. Now the word is he's also a wimp. He can't summon the courage to take on his Democratic counterparts for fear that they'll put him in his place. He speaks timidly about his competition for the Dem nomination, ensuring his failure in the election. What a disgrace. You'd think that with all his character defects, he'd at least have a backbone.

He did or he didn't. We will never know. But I think everyone on this site in particular would agree that a President who knowingly lied about intel in order to lead us into war should be impeached. Clinton did just that in Kosovo. Heck- his bombing of the Sudan "chemical weapons" plant the day of Monica's testimony should have been enough to impeach him in my opinion since it was based on not even one credible intel report and was opposed by every branch of the intel services. What about Clinton deciding to bomb Iraq the night before the impeachment vote?

I don't know if Bush is liar or not- I am not into trusting any politician just because he shares my party affiliation. And we will never know for sure. But let's say totally true and irrefutable evidence emerged that Bush knowingly lied about WMD intel in his speeches before the nation, in evidence he presented at the UN, and in closed door briefings he gave to congress. Would that justify impeachment?
