Wrong comparison dude, India has a far more older culture than Africa, bar Egypt, far older than the English. But yeah, the Brit rule did some good bringing India out of the morass it sank into after theIslamic invasions sapped the life out of the country (thank God it didn't succeed in completely conquering the country as what happened in Iran). The only part of India that is going steadily downhill isPakistan, tell u quite a bit, doesn't that?

This article should be "must" reading in every public school. More truth here than in 1000 politically correct history textbooks.

Good point. It was only a couple of centuries ago that a 10-year-old boy caught stealing a loaf of bread in England would face the gallows. And look at the example of Germany, one of the most civilized of nations, and their descent into madness and barbarism.

We are all corruptible humans with a streak of evil. Our civic culture has enabled most of us to overcome that evil. It is a valuable gift bequeathed to us by the sweat and blood of our ancestors. The fact that Western civilization was developed by white people is irrelevant. Experience proves it is the best example for all of mankind. We need to plant that culture everywhere, without shame or apology, whenever we can.

The transformation of Western European civilization from clans and barbarity to a society of individuals and law is truly remarkable.

Somehow the philosophy of the Enlightenment took hold and changed our Western world. Unfortunately, it hasn't been adopted by the vast majority of the world.

If someone could bottle the recipe and make the rest of the world take a dose, he'd be revered forever as a peacemaker.

And tens of millions were killed in China by Mao. Indeed, its not racial, its ideological and cultural. IMHO the Western European civilization is the best achievement of humanity. Pity that so many useful idiots are helping barbarians to bring it down.

I second the recommendation of Richberg's book. He's said some boneheaded things about South Africa in articles he's written but his book is dead on. A (black) Kenyan friend said that she was finding it difficult to read -- because it was accurate.
