Viacom has shelved plans to launch Outlet, a 24-hour cable channel aimed at gays, according to the Gay.com/PlanetOut.com Network, an online news service operated by PlanetOut Partners. It said that it had received a statement from the company saying that "due to the current economic climate, the timetable has slowed down for the development of a new network dedicated to programming to the gay and lesbian audience. We will keep the media informed of new developments." However, the news service pointedly observed that the economic climate did not deter Viacom for buying a controlling stake in Comedy Central from AOL Time Warner for $1.13 billion or from launching Spike TV.

Already have one, it's called P.B.S.
Defund it.

Maybe 2.2% of the US population wasn't enough to carry such a channel in the first place? Yea, yea, they say it 10% but it isn't.
As much as I've never bought the "10%" claim, I still can't quite believe the "2.2%" (though I don't think it much higher). In any case, the problem is that most homosexuals don't make their sexual orientation the center of their lives, and as such the only real audience for the channel is homosexuals who are so shallow that there's nothing to them but same-sex attraction. Some might make claims as to the proportions, but no one should be so stupid as to assume that EVERY homosexual defines themself entirely by their sexual orientation.
Especially after the idiots on the US Supreme Court gave this super minority special rights.
When and how did the USSC do that?

Now, that is sick! However, I would not put it past the homosexual community, given the existence of NAMBLA.
As much as people joke of "gerbilling", you'll be hard-pressed to find any medical reports that cite such a thing as having ever happened.

And the old "gerbil jamming" joke is that when homosexuals walk into the pet shop, all the smaller rodents start barking.

The movies on the Sundance channel are even sicker.

Okay, what is the reference to The Gerbil?I have a very good friend who used to work in a beauty salon in LA in the 80's - nails, makeup, hair and facials. Nurses often came in. One day a couple of nurses told her that Richard Gere had come into the emergency ward for the very thing you described. My friend was very shocked, needless to say. They nurses said it was hush-hush, and were wary about telling her. Later it did make it to a tabloid.
I have known this friend for fifteen years, married to a man I've known since he was a child, she ain't lying.

It is one thing for advertisers to covertly advertise to homosexuals, it is another thing to openly advertise to homosexuals and antagonize 98+% of the population.

Perhaps someone thought its was the "happy channel". Then someone explaned the PC meaning of "gay". The old executive said, "it means WHAT!" Then viacom cancelled.

I'll defer to someone named Ann Coulter. She is an expert on this area.
Q. What's your take on the Supreme Court's ruling that antisodomy laws are unconstitutional?
Gay sex may well be a mystery of life, but I'll be damned if I can find it in the Constitution.

I dunno... maybe it's because I watch so much less network primetime anymore, but it seems to me that since the demise of Ellen there has been a bit (only a bit mind you) less of a constant pro-homo drumbeat on TV.

So are any of the girls who ogle you in the locker room attractive?
Just curious is all.

Your response does not show how the USSC has convered any special privledges or protections to homosexuals.

The good news is that the employees once given their "pink slips" they were able to clear the building in less than 3 minutes...because their sh*t was already packed.

They keep trying, only for the projects to crash and burn. So far, I think that the only true success is Will and Grace. Most of the time, the only way I hear of the projects is when they are cancelled. Like you, I don't slum on network primetime anymore.
