NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.
The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

You signed up to FreeRepublic a half hour ago in order to call someone a "capo bastard"?

Reason and logic won't work with them. Examples won't work with them. Allegory, satire, parody, fable...it won't work.
It's a fruitless effort...and a very depressing thread.

I'm guessing you didn't hear the pro-Savage gays calling in defending him? Of course like here, anyone can claim to be this or that. I tend to doubt if any NAMBLA scum would defend him.
Is that the 'Pink Pistols' gay pro-gun organization?
Cool stuff!

Let me tell you something. Him calling me a "capo bastard" is laughable for various reasons, but the one that he or you might not know is that I am the furthest thing from a capo/mafioso type that you can get. I don't believe in this pseudo-tribal form of "omerta" that you seem to be engaging in by accusing me of "siding with the enemy". If my own mother killed somebody I wouldn't hide her from the cops...and she knows it, too, because she raised me that way. I don't keep my mouth shut if I think a conservative did a boneheaded thing. I wouldn't perjure myself for anyone, I won't go against my conscience for your sake, and I won't say Michael Savage did a fine thing when I know he didn't.
I don't know much about him. I've maybe heard him on the radio once, and I've seen him on TV twice (not his show, though). On TV, one time I agreed with him, and one time I thought his argument was totally moronic. So I don't care who Michael Savage is, if ANYbody said something like that on TV, I'd say he was asking to get fired.
So you can try your strong-arm tactics somewhere else. You will not intimidate me. You also aren't the one who decides what "side" I am on. Savage did a stupid thing, and from his later remarks, he knows better than you that it was stupid. He seems to be more grown up about the whole thing than you two are.

I would never, not in a million years, send any child into a public schoolThat was our first child, and the way we fought things at that school is a whole other thread. To her credit, this child, who received a 4 yr. scholarship left the college because of it's twisted views. Our second child is at a private school.

Ooops! Looks like FR "silenced" your buddy. Maybe you think FR sides with the "enemy", too.

You've never apologized for saying something?
Sure the comment he made on the air was rude. Did it warrant his termination?
How does an apology from him (at the start of his first post-telecast radio show) invalidate what anyone has said about the reaction he received?
No one here has defended it as a civil response. We also know that others are not held to this same standard and he is apologizing (which some on the left refuse to do; at best they dismiss their comments as a 'joke').
Do you REALLY believe that Michael wanted the caller to die of AIDS?
If so, then do you REALLY believe that he wanted the caller to choke on a sausage?
If you believe that he meant one statement but not the other, how do you distinguish?

The grimaces made by the lead-in announcers and announcerettes were priceless. Oh, how they hated him.

He's not "my buddy". I was agreeing with points he was making.
That makes him "my buddy"?
Not.
To: Im Your Huckleberry
That makes him "my buddy"? Not. Very good. Then you can use that same logic and realize that just because I think Michael Savage did a stupid thing, doesn't mean I'm "siding with the enemy".

What racist stupid stuff. He should have been fired long ago. They should replace him with a responsible, decent sodomite.

Wow, you said more, and said it better, in one post, than I have in thirty.Guess I should hang it up.
Seriously, you said it perfectly.
You liked hearing the newbie disruptor call someone a 'capo bastard'? He said it better than you? Said it perfectly? Perhaps you should hang it up, too.

I said "whether or not you know it...or care."
To: Im Your Huckleberry
Same to you. He's your buddy, whether or not you know it...or care.
