NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.

The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

He's partially correct.

He's engaging in melodrama and hyperbole, but it doesn't make his underlying point invalid.

You're standing up for those seek to remove any conservative voice from the airwaves. Period. You're siding with the enemy against a voice that more often than not articulates a strong conservative position very well.

It's aiding and abetting the goals of the left, whether or not you realize it...or care.

Here's the deal. Savage is free to say anything he wants on his show(s). MSNBC is free to hire or fire anyone they want based on their perceived self interest. MSNBC's loss could be someone else's gain. If Fox wants Savage (and you for an audience) they'll hire him. If Savage (and you) represent too big a liability to their advertising revenues it will be a mighty cold day in Hell before Fox or anyone else picks up Savage.

Let the market decide, and since you don't have a TV station who gives a damn what you think....

Used to get Don and Mike show for a little while in my area. They are so funny. I always felt guilty for laughing at their raunchy stuff, but couldn't help myself! They were in no way rude in the same way Savage is. Savage has an act. MSNBC should have known this already, but they will bow down to the Gay's who were after him from the beginning if you read this article.

What kind of ridiculous comeback is that?

Why not just say, "I know you are but what am I" and throw in a Pee-Wee Herman "snort" for good measure, and be done with your infantile responses that you think are an adequatet substitute for a lack of wit or originality.

Well said, as usual. Those who slobber over Dr. Savage should buy a clue from him: he has said he was sorry for his words, even if the Dr. Savage groupies don't want to take him for his own word.

"Savage belongs anyplace an audience shows up. Given his numbers, he belongs on T.V. as well as radio."

Perfect. Right on.

Again, hire him....

I assume you don't own a T.V. station...

So why don't you take your own advice?

You're posting here why?...

Is this article in unforgivable bad taste?

Republicans Mount Campaign To Rename Alzheimer's 'Reagan's Disease'

People still post Onion articles on FR

What diseases are politically correct and which ones are not?

And then there was this:

"How Reagan Got AIDS "

But when Benetton asked Site One New York - the digital imaging studio that produced the race-erasing illustrations - to give former President Ronald Reagan AIDS, nobody laughed.

"It wasn't a pleasing job. I wouldn't wish giving AIDS to anybody, but it sure was an interesting project," said Site One artist Tony Spengler, who, along with Kathy Grove and Mary Reilley, created the gaunt, sore-covered image of Reagan for Colors's June issue.

They weren't pleased by the task yet they didn't turn it down. Which took more effort? Michael's comment or these graphic designers'?
