NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.
The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

Call me out of the loop, but I never knew he was on MSNBC until on Sunday. I caught the last part of a bit where he was sampling BBQ...it was kind of disappointing given the reputation he has. I'm almost sorry I missed seeing this hot act before it got its just reward.
To: Spiff
If he had told a white male pro-life Christian to go blow himself up in front of an abortion clinic he wouldn't have been fired, he would have probably been awarded an Emmy and his show promoted to a better timeslot on MSNBC.Good point!
Some "protected" groups are more equal than others, huh?

Well, he's sold more books and made a lot more money than anyone I know personally. He's a repulsive rat, but to think he is braindead is to kid yourself.

I think there is a lot more to that story than we will ever know.I hope Savage let's the country know what the "person" on the other end said to anger him. I'd like to know. It must have been worse than what Savage said.

I think you are right on the mark here. I don't see any reason why KSFO would dump Michael Savage from their program schedule. The show is the #3 show in the nation and he frequently mentioned the call letters to his National audience and the place where he got his start. There is more than meets the eye here.

"...get AIDS and die, you pig...go eat a sausage and choke on it."
Classic.
Since "Savage's" real last name is Weiner, that's doubly funny. The Weiner says you should eat a weiner and choke on it! Or is that pronounced Whine-er? Ween-er Nation or Whine-er nation; take your pick.

Again, thanks so much for the linkage. You're right it's not what I need. This app also looks promising for the future.
Some days I wish I only had learned to surf and listen to mp3's on my PC. This is certainly, one of those days!

Let's see what he has to say for himself; his show starts in a couple of minutes, should be interesting, lol.

Sounded to me like Savage just apologized (sort of) on his radio program. Said it was an inadvertent comment made when he thought he was off the air and certainly did not wish for anyone to die such a terrible death. All of this paraphrasing; maybe someone else can clarify a little more.

It's "Ween-er"
Can't blame Michael for picking a better stage name.

He isn't? Why, he says he's brilliant. He has a doctorate in biology. Some of his sycophantic fans actually call him "Dr." Savage.
Even if you agree with most of what he says, he is so odious in his delivery, that you just have to turn him off.
Curtis Sliwa is another obnoxious jerk in the same vein, only he doesn't raise his voice like Savage (not his real name by the way) does, and I don't think Sliwa has wished death on anyone. Sliwa makes Ron Kuby look brilliant.

Good riddance is right. MSNBC did us a favor by getting rid of this madman. He's off the air in the NY market too.

I had a friend in high school who's dad turned "gay" or "bi-sexual" or some such thing. Long story. Anyway, because of this I met all sorts of queer men. Since my friends sister was a lesbian on top of this weirdness with his dad I met numerous lesbians. None of these people were happy people. Oh, they could "act" happy but not a more wretched group existed. Peel back their exterior a bit and you found people that were self-loathing, unhappy and pissed off at anyone that was not in the same state.
My view is that a lot of queers, gays, homosexuals, fags or whatever you want to call them used to just be silent and self-loathing. Over the past few decades this self-loathing is still there but a good deal of it has been taken out of the closet. And projected into the loud, obnoxious and overbearing demand that the huge balance of society recognize that queer is normal. I don't think this will ever stop. I don't think that that the queer among us will ever wake up some day and say "ok, we are done". It's not their nature.
You mean like THIS???
Romans 1:29-31
29. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
30. slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31. they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

GLAAD is on a roll after the latest Supreme Court ruling. The gay agenda will be pushed stronger than ever. You got that right. Did you hear about what happened in Honolulu over the weekend?
The gay activists decided that they deserved a place in the Christian Coalition's Family Day parade on July 5th. (This was one week after the Honolulu Gay Pride parade along the same route through Waikiki) The CC said no, you're not welcome, this parade is for the kids, not for you to promote your agenda. The queers got the ACLU to file suit to force the CC to allow them into their parade. A local judge delayed ruling until late on Thursday afternoon, too late for an appeal. The queers were excluded from the Family day parade. So they showed up in force to protest at the parade, calling the mayor and the CC and the courts homophobes and bigots, the usual stuff, and got their mugs on local television (National TV for all I know). I'm sure they were mightily impressed with themselves. Personally, I was disgusted. Time to stand up to these perverts. Enough already!
