MSNBC fires Savage after anti-gay remarks

NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.

The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

I saw also the show. No idea what the caller said after they cut him off. I will say that there are better ways to handle an annoying caller. I like Savage in small doses.

Just an aside, there's no way to tell that Savage has been fired from MSNBC TV's website because there was never any information that his show was ever on their network. Not one link to it, like all other shows have. It only appeared on the daily schedule.

Actually Rush leaves the loons on the air to hang themselves with their own rope. He'll give them far long airtime with a call than a conservative (unless a conservative caller has a very long personal history story to tell or it's something like an airline pilot providing technical details when there is a discussion on a plane crash, etc.).

I've heard Rush give a lib caller 10 minutes or more; he'll mute them to counter their claims but he doesn't just hang up on them. But some trolls don't come to the show to have a discussion, they get their insults out there and then cut and run. They hang up. I don't think that this caller would have stayed on the line much longer and by responding the way he did he vented his anger at the caller himself, not the listening audience (who were spectators in this 2 sided fight). A short "Drop Dead" may have been more appropriate though.

Right, as far as knowing the facts, anyway. We have no idea how sick the perv on the other end got. Imagine having a totally twisted brain on the other end of the phone. The sexually dysfunctional guy could have said something much worse than what Savage said....something anti-heterosexual.
Savage did the right thing. He shouldn't have to take that guys crap (literally).

I completely agree with you. It taints the anti-gay movement to claim what he said was anti gay. That'd be like somebody saying they hope that all women who get abortions would die. Then someone putting a headline up saying that person was anti abortion.

Rush does give a lot of time to liberals. But not if they are abusive or use foul language as may have been the case here. In those cases Rush just sighs- raps his fingers on the desk and moves on with barely a comment. He doesn't respond like a madman as Savage did.

savage is to me kinda like dr laura...don't necessarily disgree with them, but their voice and condescending ways just grate on my nerves.

Morton Downey Jr.'s type of tv talk was replaced with Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, and the liberal top dog of the format Jerry Jerry Jerry Springer.

Those "town hall" shows have a mob mentality. The crowd can be played.

Rush Limbaugh's tv show didn't have that kind of a studio audience.

If MSNBC producers ever listened to Savage's radio show, they should have known this was coming.

I'm so ticked off these idiots at MSNBC fired Savage I immediately fired off an email to MSNBC letting them know Savage was the ONLY show we watched on their network and we would never watch any of their programming again.

Since M$ is partners with NBC I'm going to investigate the state of Linux and hope there are some pro-sound (multi-tracking applications/pro-sound editing and mastering) apps out now and if there are, then M$ will be gone from our lives forever!

Anybody that goes up against the gay lobby in the US will lose. Just ask Dr. Laura. Savage was target #1. GLAAD is on a roll after the latest Supreme Court ruling. The gay agenda will be pushed stronger than ever.

MSNBC has garbage ratings because they think a guy like Savage represents "conservative thought."

Just don't pre-judge it before you check out it's origin. Remember that there is NO, final, authoritive Hebrew OR Greek bible texts. There is a vast CLOUD of them, with some being just slightly different from one another. The translators (even the KJV 'authorized' guys) had to choose from very many sources.

The KJV version is replete with errors, with some parts being translated from latin which were translated from greek which were translated from hebrew and aramaic.

Every Torah is word for word identical, and always has been - the original "5 books of moses" have not changed since they were first written.
