MSNBC fires Savage after anti-gay remarks

NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.

The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

Don't bet in Savage going away anytime soon even if his MSNBC show is taken off the air.

I was only speaking about Savage's TV career. The chances of another network picking his show up is pretty slim. However, on radio, he'll likely be around for years. Thus, the comparison to Howard Stern. Stern also had a TV show that was short-lived. But he's been on radio for many years and likely Savage will have a place there as well.

You nailed it. It was my impression when I first heard him at least a year ago. At first I thought I was just getting him on a bad night. Once I realized it was his MO I stopped listening.

He is an embarrassment to conservatives, but he’s not really a conservative. He doesn’t just spit anger as so many do, he spits hatred, hence the “get aids and die” comment, which is a benchmark example of what is wrong with his show.

He is the liberals dream “conservative.” The only thing missing is the rusty, jacked up 4x4 with a gun rack and “big breasted chrome woman” mudflap weights.

We'll never know unless someone steps forward to complete the caller's statement. He provoked the reponse.

I would like to know what was said that we didn't hear as well. But regardless- you cut cranks off and move on as happens on Rush's show all the time. You don't launch into a crazed disgusting invective in which you wish death by a horrible STD on a caller. And you don't follow that up by calling the caller a bath house pervert.

I was laughing when I heard the response from Savage.

When will America wake up and take a stand against the gay agenda. They are becoming ever more powerful and destroying the fabric of American culture. As for Savage, he shoulld have know that the gays are so damn sensitive...
