Did anyone else here happen to hear Rush mention Free Republic around 1:20 PM Eastern time? I was taping his program, but the tape ran out just as he mentioned us. To the best of my ability, I'll try to remember how he led into it:
In the context of telling everyone to quit worrying about moveon.org, and the influence they have with people, he said that if you want to see what REAL influence is, just let Drudge turn his site over to activism and you will see "REAL influence".
He said that if he decided to have another "Dan's Bake Sale" type event --- you would also get to see "REAL influence".
Then he said, "Heck --- no way moveon.org can even match Free Republic" for REAL influence.

Howie Carr monitors FR and well give source credit if he uses anything.

Rush, Savage Boortz, and others also rely on "Wall Street Journal Opinionjournal "Best of the Web"
http://www.opinionjournal.com/best reading selections verbatim or reusing words and ideas.

Well, don't know about any schadenfreude but thought someone ought to bust some liberal bubbles. Hey, it's OK. It's healthy to revel in the misfortunes of your foes. :)
Just looking at all the Catherine Zeta-Jones pictures on any Mo Dowd thread is very cathartic for me.

The story about the Bake Sale was cool. Why Rush felt the need to trash the guy at the end is beyond me. It really had nothing at all to do with the point of thousands of people just meeting up!!!!
We are planning on retiring to Colorado next year and for sure I want to see the place where Dan's Bake Sale took place.

Rush must not have been paying attention during the 2000 election. Bush hasn't come out in favor of anything he didn't campaign on, IIRC.

I am from Cape.

Strange -- I get nothing if I type Common Tator into the "see profile" box. You learn something every day . . .
To: Amelia
Yep, I heard it. I thought he was going to say more, but it was just that one sentence.Dittos.

Heard it - actually I thought he was talking about Howard Dean and his supposed mastery of the internet a la politics - then added that the dems could never come close to the likes of FR......

Rush still on it and said he can't believe some of the stuff that is happening.
Neither do I or most conservatives can't either....

Yep. Heard him mention us.

Yeah, you'd think that they could "move on" by now. BTW, I saw the Clinton-in-Chief on C-span just the other night from the John F. Kennedy library. He repeatedly brought up the 2000 election again, even saying "the only good thing about the 2000 election is that it presented the Supreme Court a unique opportunity to finally stand up for minority rights." *BAAAARRFFFFF!* They just can't move on! They should call it constipated.org!

Rush probably won't say it, but we should remember Hugh Hewitt. Hugh told his listeners to sign up with Move On and vote to support Dean, since Dean would be one of the most fun to campaign against.
