Did anyone else here happen to hear Rush mention Free Republic around 1:20 PM Eastern time? I was taping his program, but the tape ran out just as he mentioned us. To the best of my ability, I'll try to remember how he led into it:
In the context of telling everyone to quit worrying about moveon.org, and the influence they have with people, he said that if you want to see what REAL influence is, just let Drudge turn his site over to activism and you will see "REAL influence".
He said that if he decided to have another "Dan's Bake Sale" type event --- you would also get to see "REAL influence".
Then he said, "Heck --- no way moveon.org can even match Free Republic" for REAL influence.

I'm a member of his 24-7 site and I sent him a PM last night saying that because the Supreme Court ruled that Federal law trumps state law in regards to sodomy, then all state gun laws should be thrown out. I titled it, "How to destroy libs opinion on the Supreme Court and sodomy."
I started it with, "Mega Free Republic Dittos."

Rush would never refer to himself as "common." I believe I read that Common Tator says he "used" to be a talk show host or something.

Im thinking your'e on to something - I have clashed with 'tator a few times and they all happen to be issues that Rush apposes on his show.

I'll never forget being back home in Minniesoda a few years back and Im out in the boat fishing with my brother and he has Rush on. I was never as close to my brother in heart and soul as that day.
We caught quite a few nice crappies and a couple of decent northerns that day.
I have always wondered if he went to school wth one of my buddies from the Marines as well. They both were Cape Girardeau, Missouri products and from their ages, I have a feeling , were probably classmates as well.
Life is funny, small world and all.
Isn't FR like a trip down Nostalgia Lane sometimes?
Thanks Rush!

He gets his stories from the same places we do (Wash Times, NY Post, Am Spectator, etc.). With the sheer number of articles posted on FR on a single day, the odds are that he will cover what is posted here. True, FR is "Birddogging" Items in the News...by numbers of posts... :)

There was a rumor around here a while ago that M Thatcher was Rush's call screener or program observer at some point...

IIRC, when "move on" was created, it was supposedly created by non-political types, who really weren't all that interested in politics, but couldn't sit by while the President was being attacked over his "private life."

I always thought Common Tator was a commentator (news analyst) on television.

Rush is a "genius" and the modern version of a "self made man".
He is big enough to credit others and smart enough to use FR as a sounding board and to gauge his message's receptivity. Not to mention he is amoungst kindred spirits on FR.
Despite not having children genetically of his own, he has in a sense gone beyond propagation of the species to propagation of his ideas. He has succeeded in ensconcing himself in popular culture for years to come. This is how "memes" are made.

I don't think it is Rush. It is this guy:
http://www.raymalone.com/ I don't know who Ray Malone is but this is the page that is linked to Common Tater's page.
To: Jim Robinson
Maybe they encourage registration, posthumously?
I've heard tell that happens with a NUMBER of liberals and registation processes.
