Did anyone else here happen to hear Rush mention Free Republic around 1:20 PM Eastern time? I was taping his program, but the tape ran out just as he mentioned us. To the best of my ability, I'll try to remember how he led into it:
In the context of telling everyone to quit worrying about moveon.org, and the influence they have with people, he said that if you want to see what REAL influence is, just let Drudge turn his site over to activism and you will see "REAL influence".
He said that if he decided to have another "Dan's Bake Sale" type event --- you would also get to see "REAL influence".
Then he said, "Heck --- no way moveon.org can even match Free Republic" for REAL influence.
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; Extended News; Free Republic; Front Page News; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: activism; censureandmoveon; clueless; fr; freepers; freerepublic; leftwingers; limbaugh; morondotorg; moronedotorg; moveon; moveonorg; moveoverdotorgasm; rush; rushlimbaugh

Yahoo! Rush likes us after all. He has always respected the site and most posters. It was a few idiots, probably DU'ers posing as Freepers that attacked him and branded all of us freaks. I think he has come to findout that most posters here are intelligent, friendly, conservative people who like to hear and share ideas. The very same people who listen to Rush.

The fact that the group is still called "Move On" after Clinton's been out of office for 3 years shows how pathetic they are. They can't MOVE ON at all!

I was listening during my lunch hour and I heard him. I was wondering if there would be a thread on it.

Rush is one of MANY celebs who lurk around here! Hi Rush :) Ever read a Common Tator post? I'm convinced he's Rush, or another big name talk show host. How 'bout it, Tator?
To: dansangel

To: NormsRevenge

He mentioned Drudge as one of his sources for news, and that Drudge had many more followers than MoveOn. He also quoted from a link sent to him that actually viewership, hits, etc, were going down on MoveOn.

~~~Yahoo! Rush likes us after all.~~~~
Today.
Let's not forget the pounding FR took when Rush used his 'broad brush' to paint FR as whackos ....or some such.
Fact is....imo.....Rush employs his 'broad brush of generalities' with too frequent regularity.
onyx...thanks for the ping!
Check that!
I heard Drudge specifically mention "Freerepublic" as well.
Kind of makes you wonder how he managed to put his show together for almost a DECADE BEFORE FREE REPUBLIC EXISTED. Easy with a staff pouring over newsprint every weekday and 2+ hours of prep time for years...now he can surf FR...better use of his time... :)
I heard that moveon.org claims 1.4 million members. Guess the vast majority of them log in somewhere other than moveon.org:
The fact that they have instititutionalized the sweeping-under-the-rug of the most disgusting scandal ever to hit the Presidency continues to amaze me. Don't they know that the very name 'Move On' evokes a desire to ignore reality and pretend that things that did happen, and everyone knows happened, didn't???
What 'Move On' meant in 1998 is:
1) Perjury by the President of the United States is unimportant, let's ignore it
2) Obstruction of justice by the President of the United States is unimportant, let's ignore it
3) Sexual harassment by the President of the United States is unimportant, let's ignore it
4) The abdication of the Senate of its most solemn Constitutional dity is unimportant, let's ignore it
5) Presidents should be free from moral judgement
6) A President free of moral judgement is A-OK
etc.
Were I on that side of the fence I'd tell the 'moveon' folks to pack it in and stop being a festering sore of embarassment
Easy with a staff pouring over newsprint every weekday and 2+ hours of prep time for years...now he can surf FR...better use of his time... :) He gets his stories from the same places we do (Wash Times, NY Post, Am Spectator, etc.). With the sheer number of articles posted on FR on a single day, the odds are that he will cover what is posted here.
