Prayers needed for my Mom

My Mom, who is 81, called me at 9 tonight to tell me that she needs to have a pacemaker put in place ASAP. The soonest her doc can make the arrangements is Monday morning, but he pretty much implied it's an emergency. She blacked out last Thursday and spent 24 hours on a heart monitor, which revealed that only half of her heart is functioning. She's putting up a real brave front, but she's never been in the hospital in all of her 81 years, and frankly, I'm afraid of losing her. Please pray for her, she has been my rock in the darkest hours of my life, a real gem.

I will pray for your Mom and for the heart procedure. That is not a difficult procedure and she will likely enjoy many more years. Now go see her and shower her with your love!

My prayers to you and yours, a pacemaker will probably be a godsend to your mother. It is a relatively noninvasive procedure that will give her more mobility than she has had recently ( they just don't tell you everything). At her age she is doing well to need just this "fix". My prayers!

Moms are indeed wonderful, I love mine with all my heart and I can understand how you feel. My mom has COPD among many other ailments and is in constant pain from arthritis, it breaks my heart to see her trying to walk.
Prayers for you mom!

Thank you all VERY much...if someone had told me last week that I'd be sitting here making a prayer request, I'd have told them they were full of it. Now all I have to do is convince her to come stay with me and my girls for awhile once she is released. She's lived in the same house for 48 years and refuses to leave. (I think she was cutting the grass on the day she blacked out.)

My 83-year-old grandmother had a pacemaker installed last month and she is like a new woman! She has more energy, is much more active, and even seems younger!
Your mom will be fine. Having your tonsils removed is a more invasive operation than a pacemaker. Prayers offered anyway even though I know you and she will not need them.
