We have been blessed to live in interesting times. I danced to Barry White at my wedding reception in Germany. No small feat to get Barry transported to Munich from America in the 70's...The Germans loved him. They eventually wore out my record.

I used to have Barry White on 8-track. He was one of my guilty pleasures, but it's been a long time since I've listned to him.

I met a woman in Singapore who had his greatest hits collection and I realized that she and I had gone through our love of Barry White's music at about the same time in life. It gave us an immediate connection and friendship.

I heard a few weeks ago that Barry was in poor health and I think there was a thread here about that. I was a fan of Barry White's music back in the 1970s and his songs still sound good today. Also, did you hear that Herbie Mann died this week too? He's the one who had the big 70s hit "Hijack".

Just damn...as horrified as my teenagers are to hear it, the disco days were the best years of my life, and Barry was one of the biggest reasons why.
