Dear Freeper Friends: Please pray for my husband. He has a tender swelling place just under his ribs on the right side. Xrays were inconclusive, and disclosed nothing more than an inflamed area that appeared to be on the base of the lungs. A CATscan was performed today, but we will have to wait until Monday to hear the results of this test. Please give it all you've got. He's a GOOD man.

Thanks, Polycarp. Not since last night. I suspect that as soon as they drain the fluid from around his organs he will feel MUCH more comfortable. Lots of tests for him today, including biopsies. I will be going to see him later this afternoon, so I should have some news by this evening some time.

The diagnosis is in, and is dismal. The liver is heavily cancerous, and has involved the lungs and the stomach, as well. More details as I get them. I will spend the day there tomorrow while they do more tests, and then I guess they will just send him home to spend the rest of his time with us. Thanks for praying, everyone. It means SO much to me.

Oh, redhead --I am so sorry. My heart goes out to Joe and to you. I will double my prayers that something can be done. Hopefully they are making him comfortable. Thank you for taking the time to keep us posted.

I am truly sorry to hear about your husband. I lost my husband with cancer and know it is hard. However we know that it would be harder without knowing the Lord as our God. I will be keeping you and your husband in my prayers. Remember our Lord is faithful and we can count on him to be there for us. You never know, He might have a miracle waiting for you. I will pray for one if it is his will. I also pray for strength and courage for you as you will need it in caring for your husband.

There is also a new procedure for treating growths on the liver that were formerly untreatable, they use radio waves to cook the growths. It's pretty cool, I first read about it while researching bone tumors. Good luck, and keep praying.

No tests yesterday or today. His platelet count is so low that they are reluctant to go inside and cut for fear they won't be able to stop the bleeding. So, perhaps he'll get a transfusion of plasma tonight, and the tests can be done tomorrow. He was in good spirits today, and even got a little rest in between visitors. His appetite is good (well, it's not, but he does eat well because he knows he needs the nourishment). Once the tests are completed and interpreted, I think he'll be able to come home for a while before his treatments begin. We are still praying for a MIRACLE, God's stock in trade.

Update on Mr.Redhead!!!

I posted this on another thread on Redhead's husband Joe yesterday.This morning I recalled that there were two threads running,so I will post on this one too.

The news is not good at all,all prayers needed to storm the heavens. Redhead and Joe are at the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion Illinois. Joe had to be admitted via the ER because he had a collapse in the motel room He is VERY sick. His liver has tumors,his bone marrow is invaded and he has a small cell cancer in the left lung. The doctor said this is particularlly fast moving and virulent type of cancer.

Redhead said she has access to a computer in one of the visiting areas in the hospital and will try to read mail and answer and update as she can. Although I hope we will hear from her regularly that may not be possible,so lets pray for healing,miracles and God's mercy and blessings for them and also let her know we are thinking about both of them.

If any of you know others that may not know what's happening to Joe,please ping them. I think both threads are running in News/Activism,if there is one running on religion would you ping me. Also,if one isn't running there,could someone start one?

Heavenly Father, I ask that You comfort Joe and Redhead as only You can ... speak to them in their fear and in their sorrow ... grant to them a special blessing as they face their challenges. Father, it would please us greatly if You would take hold of Joe's cancer in a supernatural way, or through the treatments to come ... raise him up, I pray, that his days would be lengthened, that he and Redhead could share many joys in the days ahead.
