LOS ANGELES -- Any day now, community colleges here may begin telling faculty members that they cannot be paid and students that summer classes are canceled.

Nursing homes are losing so much state aid that many soon may have to shut down or limit their services, a prospect that has elderly residents confused and frightened.

As many as 30,000 government workers who had been expecting pay raises in the fall are instead receiving formal notices warning that they could lose their jobs by then, because the state is broke.

This is life in California, on the brink of a fiscal disaster.

The nation's most populous state, home to one of the world's largest economies, has been staring in disbelief at the same dire predicament for months: a $38 billion deficit, the largest shortfall in its history and an extreme example of the budget woes afflicting many states. But now it has only hours left to solve the problem.

Expect a court ordered tax increase to continue operation, with the presiding judge as special master.

It happened in Kansas City over the schools some 20 years ago. A judge who would be king, raised - collected - and spent unConstitutional taxes, under penalty of contempt of court and then administered the district wasting more than a billion dollars. The entire usurpation was because repeatedly voters, foolishly believing their laws and Constitution, would not vote themselves a tax increase for the increasingly "minority" majority, declining standardized test scores district. After more than a billion in gold plating and other admistrative expenses with indoor swimming pools, test scores still declined. It's the students, Stupid.

Because of continuing criminal alien invasions, Kalifornistan is "minority", so protected by bully blackrobes.

The Rehnquist SCOTUS ruled that blackrobes have such dictatorial powers, clearly not otherwise afforded them under our Constitution, THE Law of our Land. He and his accomplices should then have been removed from office.

Forget what your Constitution says, consent of the governed means nothing when the desires of the ruling won't wait.

A court order awaits us all.

California sent the federal government $58 billion more than it recieved in federal outlays in 2001.

Apples and oranges. The state government is going broke, not the citizens who paid those federal taxes.

Besides, you Californians kept voting for ueber liberal congressional feminazis who raised your taxes and so marginalized themselves that the rest of the country won't give you the time of day.

California Liberals el at voted for benefits more generous for her citizendary than Europeans; today we find out that Austria has raised the retirement age from 55 to 65 years of age, and cut benefits by 13% when you do get there; France and Germany are pushing to raise retirement likewise and cutting more benefits!

Let it crash, Doug. Nothing's ever gonna change, in Kalifornia and the nation as a whole, until we're reminded once again how bad things can be. If given the choice between a quick collapse and a long, painful decline, I say let the crash begin. Let the rest of this diseased society follow, and then we can get about cleaning up the mess.
