Bill Clinton's lawyer co-hosts Fox and Friends! We must demand equal time!

Posted on 06/30/2003 6:27:03 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55

Lis Wiehl who is a legal analyst for Foxnews co-hosted Fox and Friends this morning. I think that is perfectly fine, even though she was Bill Clinton's lawyer during impeachment and a well known liberal.

Fox needs to now provide equal time and have Ann Coulter as a guest host for an entire week! Month? Permenant?

http://archives.thedaily.washington.edu/1999/020499/F1.lawlady.html

Lis Wiehl was second in command on President Clinton's defense team during his impeachment.

Lis Wiehl joined FOX News Channel (FNC) as a legal analyst in October 2001. Currently an associate professor of law at the University of Washington School of Law, Wiehl also serves as a legal commentator on National Public Radio’s All Things Considered.

Prior to joining FNC, Wiehl served as a legal analyst for KIRO-TV (CBS). From November 2000-February 2001, she provided legal analysis for NBC News. Before that, Wiehl held the position of principal deputy chief minority investigative counsel for the United States House of Representatives, Committee on Judiciary. Additionally, from 1990-1995, she served as an executive assistant at the United States Attorney’s office. Wiehl began her career as a litigation associate for Perkins Coie law firm.

Wiehl received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College in 1983 and received her Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Queensland in 1985. In addition, she earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1987.

We need to demand equal time for Conservatives!

Demand that Ann Coulter Guest Host Fox and Friends! If you get the notion, lets lobby Fox to give Ann her own show....Imagine Ann having her own TV show!!!!

I don't watch MSNBC, so I can't comment on the specifics. However, I assume anyone who goes on these shows loves attention. That does not mean they are "whores" or that their advice is not worth listening to.

To repeat, I have never heard her say anything that struck me as a partisan liberal remark. I have heard her talk about criminal law and procedure and trial tactics, and what she has said on those subjects has always sounded right to me. To the extent there has been any slant to her remarks, I think it reflects more her experience as a federal prosecutor than anything else.

Lis Wiehl has been with Fox as a legal analyst for quite a while now. She actually is pretty good, and if I didn't know her history (I did and do) I would not even peg her as a liberal.

Perhaps her views are modified.

She wasn't clinton's lawyer. She worked on behalf of Congress.

Was that the tacky, giggly woman whose waist was about 8 inches broader than her shoulders? I have seen her on Fox before as a "legal expert." C'mon, Fox, you can do better than this.

Oh no. She did work for Congress but she was second in charge as Bill Clintons defense lawyer during impeachment!

I remember seeing her a LOT during impeachment. She had a perm then.

She is not a typical clinton lib irrational legal analyst, though.

Besides, I posted before reading replies and must say.....uh, I had to slog through a lot of pictures of Ann Coulter and it seemed kind of bizarre.

Glad you are amused. If it gets too bad on the floor, I'd be glad to step on you and put you out of your ant-like misery.

I will say one thing for this thread. As meandering as it may be, it does contain one of THE BEST collection of Ann Coulter pics I have ever seen on Free Republic. Thanks FReepers.

"I'd be glad to step on you and put you out of your ant-like misery"

Whoa! That was kind of uncalled for!

The ROTFLOL was for your insistance that Lis may be a liberal but you never saw any evidence of it ...??? I'm stunned! ... everyword out of her mouth confirms her liberal viewpoint. I'm sorry, but I cannot fathom any conservative missing her point of view as being liberal.

As I said, I have seen her only on Fox, commenting on matters having to do with the criminal justice system. She usually handles the "prosecution" side of the presentation, and I have not detected any bias in what she says other than perhaps a bias toward the prosecution side (which is natural given her experience as a prosecutor but is hardly a trademark of liberals). I know she was on the Clinton side in the impeachment wars, so it wouldn't surprise me if she leaned left, but I haven't observed that leaning in her TV appearances. And I certainly wouldn't call her a "media whore", which epithet by another FReeper got me going down this road.

What are some of the things you have heard her say that you think brand her as over-the-top liberal?

I'm sorry I don't have specifics, but she is regularly on Hannity and Colmes, and her comments are just so typical liberal - and she also regularly appears on Greta's show - with the same typical comments.

I do understand which side (prosecutor) she makes her comments from - however, I am usually with that side of the fence, having been in law enforcement.
