Operation Infinite FReep in Fresno, California (6-27-03)

Tonight six FReepers braved the heat and showed up on the southwest corner of Blackstone and Shaw Avenues in Fresno, California, to show support for America's troops and her president. No peaceniks showed up tonight. We held up signs asking for a show of support for the troops from the motorists who were driving by and the response was great!

After the Freep, five of us went to DiCiccio's for dinner and we had a lot of fun.

Ahhh! You guys went to DiCiccio's tonight! And we missed it! Darn it all! It was a little warm tonight wasn't it? Even I thought it was hot, which means it was a scorcher! Wish we could have joined you! Thanks for braving the heat. I am sure the peaceniks would have melted so they stayed away!

Thanks for being there tonight. It was 105 in Modesto at the time you started, so I would imagine it was a few degrees warmer a hundred miles down the road.

According to this weather site yesterday's high temperature was 108. I can say it felt like 120! We tied the record high temp which was set in 1973. Hope you enjoy the weather report LOL

I only have two pictures to add. Due to the heat and the lack of war protestors, we had a small turnout. We received lots of support from the passing motorists. One motorist held up his military ID tag for us to see while another held up dog tags as he was driving by. One young lady lowered her window and told us her husband was in the military and she wanted to thank us for him. We told her to let him know that he is appreciated. I only saw one idiot motorist ..... she was three lanes over and she stepped out while stopped at the light to give us a thumbs down. As you who know me can imagine, she irritated me enough that I walked back far enough so she could see me and gave her a thumbs down and pointed at her. At that point several motorists started honking and giving us the thumbs up.
