I was lucky enough to purchase Mexifornia at a bookstore in Fresno and have it signed by Mr Hansen. I asked him if I could audit his classes in the Fall and he replied that he teaches in Greek and Latin but I was more than welcome to join him in the Spring when he teaches in English.

Californians and other Americans have always had compesinos picking our fruit, mowing our lawns and bussing our tables. Mexicans do the work that native-born Americans do not want to do.

As a teenager, I bussed tables and mowed lawns to earn money. I didn't realize at the time that I was doing work that I didn't want to do.
