Californians and other Americans have always had compesinos picking our fruit, mowing our lawns and bussing our tables. Mexicans do the work that native-born Americans do not want to do.

As a teenager, I bussed tables and mowed lawns to earn money. I didn't realize at the time that I was doing work that I didn't want to do.

I'm glad Mona Charin is looking at the whole picture. Hopefully, many more will see what is happening to California and the US.
