McDermott attacks Bush as liar over WMD during prescription debate on the floor

The debate is one of the nastiest I've seen on the floor of the House of all time--Nancy Johnson (R-CT) seems to be taking the brunt of the vicious attacks (and I do mean vicious) from the Democrats.

Jim McDermott (D-WA) just said the Republicans can't be trusted on prescription drugs because WMD have not been found in Iraq (he mistakenly said "Iran" first, at which time the Republican members took the opportunity to laugh hysterically at him). Called Bush a liar, at which time the Chair ordered him to sit down. Billy Tauzin (R) followed up by saying "It looks like we just found Baghdad Bob." McDermott broke in out of order and asked if it was appropriate for a member to do this, at which time he was again slapped down by the Chair as being out of order.

Frank Pallone (D-NJ) went completely crazy just after that--it was insane asylum material. Frank Stark (D-CA)now calling Ryan (R-WI) a liar.

They wiped the slate clean so quickly for the next vote it was impossible to digest the event. C-SPAN offered it's usual incisive overview. They hire catatonics ... "On the Democrat Line from Florida ... blehhhhhh ...."

I listened to some of those calls. Whoever said it earlier had it right....they are seminar callers working from a script. Tonight...they must have been told to sound old and frail and FOR the Democrat plan. Didn't matter which line they called in on.

Rush doesn't have the keen insight anymore, and he is a lousy interviewer.

That is exactly how I have been feeling as well -- nice to know I am not the only one!

Keep remembering that a Freeper reminded me that Rush was a Buchanan supporter against the first President Bush in 1992 primaries which started the fracture of the Republicans and led to Perot/Clinton tag team against President Bush.

Guess I am the wrong kind of Conservative according to some on here -- Rush is not #1 in my book -- now he is not even on my radio most days!

I wimped out and went to bed early this morning! Couldn't take anymore seminar callers.

I tried to get through on the Republican line and it was busy from the minute they flashed the number. The RATs must have the number of speed dial.

They didn't need to go to different callers -- could have replayed the first caller over and over again!
