Visiting residence lobby or entryway of opposite sex on campus or allowing the same

12 Reprimands + $70 Fine

(less previously paid fines)

Attendance at, possession or viewing of, an "R," "NC-17" or "X"-rated movie

Deception

Entering the space above ceiling tiles

Malicious horseplay/behavior (plus financial restitution)

Obscene, profane or abusive language or behavior

Out of residence hall overnight or substantial portion of the night without permission (after 2:00 a.m.)

Participation in an unauthorized petition or demonstration

Possession and/or viewing of pornography

Possession of a school key without authorization

Safety/security violation

Students of the opposite sex visiting alone at an off-campus residence

Visiting the residence hallway of the opposite sex

18 Reprimands + $100 Fine

(regardless of previously paid fines) + 18 hours Disciplinary Community Service + 50% Scholarship Reduction

Association with those consuming alcohol

Commission of a misdemeanor

Failure to properly identify oneself

Falsification of information on an official document

Lying to a dean during an official investigation

Racial harassment

Sexual harassment (i.e., unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other conduct or comments of a sexual nature)

Sexual misconduct and/or any state of undress

Threat to do bodily harm

Vandalism (plus financial restitution)

Visiting bedroom of the opposite sex on/off campus or allowing the same

30 Reprimands + $150 Fine

(regardless of previously paid fines) + 30 hours Disciplinary Community Service + possible Administrative Withdrawal and/or possible 100% Scholarship Reduction. NOTE: For each accumulation of six (6) or more reprimands after 30, an additional $150 fine will be assessed.

Assault/sexual assault (minimum two (2) semesters out) Commission/conviction of any felony

Failure of three (3) Christian/Community Services without reconciliation

Illegal drugs-association/possession, use/distribution (minimum two semesters out)

Life-threatening behavior or language to others or oneself (immediate removal/exclusion from campus and a minimum of two semesters out)

Non-participation/disruption/non-compliance (possible removal/exclusion from campus)

Refusal to submit to an Alco-Sensor test and/or drug test

Spending the night with a person of the opposite sex

Stealing or possession of stolen property (plus financial restitution; minimum two semesters out)

Two or more individuals of the opposite sex together in motel room

Unauthorized possession/use of weapons

I don't think you're giving the grads enough credit for having the brains to see the difference between the strict rules they lived under and the rest of the "real world." By that logic, grads of the anything-goes public colleges we have today would be incapable of exercising leadership at all, yet many do and do it well.

Those kids want to go to a school where Christ is put front and center. Are they overly legalistic? Yeah. Do they sometimes lose their view of their Savior for the forest of rules in their way? Possibly. But it's still providing the Christ-centered education that these students and their parents want. And the rules provide structure and discipline that some of those kids probably need.

The LU grads I've known have been no better- and no worse-adjusted than the grads from the public university I attended.

I ask you (and the other christians here mocking Liberty's rules)to consider the following before making any more sacrastic comments.

Christian women should not dress to be sexually stimulating to the opposite sex.

Proverbs 7:10: And there a woman met him, With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.

Ultimately, if you don't feel you can live up to these standards, don't criticise those who can. They are not being "legalistic", they are trying to teach their students that even though we are saved by grace, we still keep the law because we love Messiah

Romans 3:31 "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." Again in Romans 6:1 "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

First...Liberty and most Christian Colleges are geared for people who want to continue in the ministry in some way. So it is not for everybody.

I am sure that the world is much better off with more abortion, rap music, Drugs, gay rights and whatever. The way you want it I guess.

The point is...everybody draws lines. Why do you care where Falwell draws his? His influence is mostly at Lynchburg, just don't go there.

I guess you dislike Franklin Grahamn for the same reasons. I got news for all of you on this board downing Falwell. Anyone who tries to live a good moral life will be held up for ridicule. I am sorry, but the bible is not out of date now nor will it ever be in the future.

Jesus said above all love thy neighbor as thyself. If Christians would do more of this, especially towards other Christians, things would be a whole lot better.

Not at all. Normal, secular universities and colleges support a wide range of behaviors. Yes, there are drunken frat boys and dopers at these schools. I wouldn't hire them, either. But...there are also serious students who are there to learn and who take part in activities in their schools which helps train them as leaders.

Not everyone at a public university is an idiot. However, everyone at LU is a person who can exist, and thrive, in an autocratic rules-based society. Every one. And I would have no room for such folks in any organization I ran. I'd be looking for the creativity and flexibility that is absolutely essential to successful business.

You won't find either at LU. It's actively discouraged. Have you ever been on campus at one of these schools for more than a few hours? It's incredibly stifling.

I have. I attended a "Christian" college for one semester, back in the 60s. It had all those silly rules, and then some. I didn't break any. I didn't get in trouble. I just left, since I couldn't see any value in such an education for four years.

I went on to a California public University, where I graduated with honors and have made excellent use of the education I got there. I wasn't wild. I wasn't drunk. I went there, studied, graduated, then went on with a successful life.

All you'll get from LU or BJU or any of the repressive "Christian" colleges is training to become an autocrat. Not much call for those in the real world.

On the other hand, this could be a really great school to attend. It sounds like this guy was having a good time and getting some action. Forty years later, he's got a log sheet. Adding a little detail from memory, he can tell his kids and grandchildren chapter and verse in response to "What did you do in college?"

What have I got? I think she was a secretary or a nurse that I picked up at the Beta house and, no, I don't remember what I was drinking. Who was that driving his motorcycle in the fraternity house? No, there is a lot to be said for the University providing a detailed, annotated, and certified log of your undergraduate transgressions along with a diploma. Imagine the shame of getting a blank piece of paper.

Everything I write, unless I place it in quotes, is my opinion. There are few "facts" that we'll all agree on. I base my opinion, however, on my life experience and education, along with research, when needed.
