"Conservatism is COMPLETELY about doing good works. "

No there is within conservative movement those who would misuse it. Those that have absolutely no regard for the poor which the Lord condemns. I agree that proper rewards are the key to a good economic system. That's why I'm conservative. But there must always be a balance.

"People who want to "spread the word" in fact REALLY want to shout to the world how "superior" their adoption of a given creed is. "

Now here, you are absolutely right. There is no doubt in my mind that Christianity is superior to all other religions. It may share that attitude with some other religions. But you want to know what Christianity doesn't share with any other religion?

It's that you and I aren't going to be good enough to get to heaven. You and I are not going to be able to stand before a perfect Holy God, a God that knows now sin, a God that decreed that the penalty for sin is death, and say that we are good. There is no good that you can do that you shouldn't be doing anyway. And there is nothing you can do to reverse sin. Therefore you must be forgiven.

That forgiveness is not something you can earn. It is the grace of God. God himself paid the penalty that he decreed for our sins. No other religion shares that.

I will tell you without a doubt, you either embrace Jesus our you face the Holy and just anger of the mightiest being you can ever imagine.

And the only reason I'm on here listening to your abuse and taking the time to tell you this. Is because you don't have a prayer, unless somebody tells you. And I think it's senseless and stupid, a waste of humanity for you to continue on your path. I know you aren't likely to change. But I'm going to tell you anyway, because He wants me to. Because He has taught me, that I should love others, regardless of whether they return it. That I should love others regardless of their sin. And He invites me to share in His work.

And you can call it total egocentric sacntimonious claptrap if you want to. But it's not. And it never will be.

That phrase could have been uttered by Mohammed Atta. It is not abuse to point out and expose self-importance. But I've learned that it is pretty pointless. Shining a light on this kind of nonsense never stops proselytes. So I guess we're done here.

I have been getting the impression of late that Christians are becoming unwelcome here at FR

I won't go as far to say that, although I would fully agree within the Republican party. Just look at some of the wonderful stances taken by our party leaders all in the name of 'inclusion'(gathering votes)

People who want to "spread the word" in fact REALLY want to shout to the world how "superior" their adoption of a given creed is.

I'm speaking for my good neighbors here, not myself (I'm a big time sinner), but that isn't true. Christians not only don't want to 'shout to the world that they're superior', they know it wouldn't please God. They also know they're sinners, each and every one, in need of mercy. It isn't an act...'humility' is super-human.

Christians are required to proselytize...commanded by Jesus to share the Gospel, but never to "force" anyone to listen, or ever to act pushy. They make the best neighbors, the kindest Doctors, the most decent police and soldiers and the safest refuge in times of trouble.

They are the opposite of the religions that force their will on others, "or else". They'll be a good neighbor and friend "in spite of". Wherever true Christianity has spread throughout history - liberty has followed...for slaves, women and communities. That's a fact.

Gee, I guess everybody forgot how Osama Bin Falwell blamed 9-11 on America being so immoral, and went off on several public rants on it.

So now a public rant is the same as a public execution? Your moral equivalence is disgusting.

Do not steal when the Taliban are in control.

"Entering the space above ceiling tiles"

LOL! I was slow to get this one. But I re-read this list of no-no's. And there it was!

This Liberty U. place is such a misnomer. It sounds like a prison.

Christians are becoming the outsiders in the 'conservative' party more quickly than some would admit to

Well said, especially when the secular left is loudly flooding over to this side...

"That phrase could have been uttered by Mohammed Atta"

His would have been "convert or I'll kill you".

Why are you surprised that there are counterfeits that resemble the true faith? It's still easy enough to distinquish if you care to take the time. That there are false religions is not going to be much of an excuse. You know or knew in your heart that God is.

"You'd think that some folks would remember that Jerry pretty much implied that the terrorists were divine messengers of God, punishing wicked America before defending his sorry fat ass"

Jerry never implied that they were anything but evil. He certainly never implied they were " divine messengers of God".

What he said, is that evil wouldn't have even been allowed to touch us if we were right with God. That it had, was a sign that we needed to repent.

"Whereas, we good people, like the Methodist Hillary, believe "It Takes a Village." "

I didn't say that. The community should only step in when the family doesn't or can't. But there are those that would let orphans and widows starve.

Are the rules somewhat legalistic? Perhaps, but it is a private college, and I see them as trying to maintain the standards that I hope and pray I can do for my own children one day.

BINGO!!!! We have a winner folks. It's called Freedom of Association, a right guaranteed by our Constitution.

"Morals are scary!"

Yes,
whether the Taliban are foreign or domestic,
rag-head or crew-cut.
