Brian Kilmeade Interviews Shawn Michaels About Fallen Soldiers.
WWE and Foxnews. ^

Brian Kilmeade interviewed Shawn Michaels this morning about Fallen Soldiers and Politics in general.

Brian: Shawn do you have any intention to ever run for any office? Jesse Ventura is a governor now. He was a former wrestler and former Navy Seal. You are a wrestler and former military man yourself. Any intention of running for office?

Shawn: No No. I am way too conservative to ever be elected to any office. I'm a Conservative all the way.

Brian: Thats good. I hear there might be a Conservative movement in this country.

Shawn: Yeah I've heard that rumor too.

Brian and Shawn laugh hysterically.

WWE™ RAW® Superstars Raise Funds for Families of Fallen Soldiers

Stone Cold Steve Austin™, Triple H™, Shawn Michaels™ and other Superstars to kick-off national effort in New York City on June 23

STAMFORD, Conn., June 18, 2003 - World Wrestling Entertainment™, in conjunction with FYE – For Your Entertainment retail stores, will be undertaking a national effort to raise funds for the families of military personnel killed in the war with Iraq. The effort kicks off in New York City at the FYE store in Rockefeller Plaza at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 23. WWE RAW Superstars Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair™, Bill Goldberg™, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash™ and Trish Stratus™ will be participating at this event.

All proceeds will be donated to the Armed Forces Families Scholarship and Assistance Fund, which is part of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.

“The families of our Armed Forces are the unsung heroes of America,” said Linda McMahon, WWE CEO. “They must shoulder the burden when a father or mother is killed in action. We are glad to be part of the effort to ensure the children of these military heroes lost in action in Iraq will be provided for. I want to thank Shawn Michaels for bringing forward this idea and helping to organize the Superstars to make it happen.”

“We want to see that these true American heroes are memorialized in a meaningful way,” said Fred Fox, Executive Vice President Marketing and Merchandising, Trans World Entertainment Corporation and parent company of FYE (For Your Entertainment). “We will honor not only the memories and courage of those we lost in the war, but we will also make certain to care for the families through the Armed Forces Families Scholarship and Assistance Fund of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.”

“Our Foundation is extremely thankful to the WWE for their support,” said James Kallstrom, Chairman of the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. “ We are proud to be of service to the children of our fallen military personnel and WWE’s participation in our fundraising efforts will greatly assist in our ability to provide scholarships bonds. Our goal is to ease the burden on these families who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms found in our great country.”

HBK, baby! I figured he was semi-conservative at least, but I didn't know he's ex-military.

The fact that he's ex military combined with the fact that he's what the liberals call a "fundamentalist christian" combined with the fact he's trying to help the families of fallen soldiers makes him an alright guy with me.

Someone said he is Jerry Lawler's son. Is that true?

No, he's not Jerry Lawler's son. Lawler's son is Brian Christopher.

Shawn Michaels is one of the all-time greats. He could wrestle a coatrack and make it a four-star match.

I don't know all of it, but Vince probably was reacting the way any businessman would. Vince is, I think, registered as an indpendent. His wife Linda is a registered Republican. The Rock spoke at the GOP convention in 2000 (but I think he also spoke at the Dem one, didn't he?) Wrestler John "Bradshaw" Layfield is very conservative and called George W. "One of the best Governors Texas has ever had."

Mick Foley (Mankind) used to say that wrestler Val Venis "makes Pat Buchanan look liberal."

When I was in college, I met a CR from North Carolina who said Flair was a HUGE supporter of Jesse Helms and a big draw at North Carolina CR events.
