Incredible!
Justice O'Connor is still getting back at those White Male Law Firms who would only hire her to be a secretary!
How many DECADES has it been since that happened, Madame Justice? Isn't it about time to forgive and forget? What happened to you hasn't happened to others for DECADES!

The Supreme Court apparently does not want to make any substantive decisions regarding Affirmative Action. They just want to push the issue away from themselves.
Not a very useful trait in a body that is supposed to be decisive.

"Who wins... nobody" And even assuming that they do get through on their skin color, then society loses. We are the ones who end up with the inferior "professionals" in the work force. I personally do not want a doctor who made it because he was the right color!

Anyone with media access should please list the breakdown among justices of the vote. I think FOX News said it was 5-4 decision. Did I hear correctly ? Thomas was the tie-breaker ???

>>>The law school took account of race as one factor amongst many - toward 'promoting' diversity; the undergrad admissions awarded a predetermined number of points to every minority applicant. I believe this decision was predictable and somewhat fair.

This is why we MUST fight for all of Bush's judges. Right. We need Republican liberals over DemocRat liberals. It is better to hit the wall at 85 mph than 100 mph.

You're right on...
'The Equal Protection Clause does not prohibit the law school's narrowly tailored use of race in admissions decisions to further a compelling interest in obtaining the educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body,' Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote.
I'm curious...what are the educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body?

Regarding your tagline:
"Liberalism is the enemy of Freedom"
Do you know the meaning of the word? And I'm not talking about the leftist bastardization of the term...
To: dead
Does this SC decision on admissions policy in Michigan automatically apply to other state universities w/similar or same policies?
To: alisasny
Wait, did SCOTUS just overturn the 14th amendment? I didn't know the Supreme Court had the authority to overturn constitutional amendments.
