BTW: How 'bout an ejection seat that throws a Congressman out of his seat when he/she votes for or says something so stupid and unconstitutional? (applies to both houses of course)

I don't know why a social conservative like Hatch would want to short-circuit a phenomena that will eventually bankrupt the very media companies that have been polluting the culture with filth and crap for the last forty or so years.

There was a Mac virus that changed the monitor refresh rate...pumped it up so high that the monitor caught fire if the machine was running long enough.

I don't remember any such virus on the Mac, and so far, a Google search hasn't produced any evidence of your dubious claim.

I do remember that "Compute" magazine once published the source code for a game that would fry the monitor of a Commodore computer. Unfortunately, they did not publish the warning against running the program until the following month's issue.

Thank you, you corrected my hazy memory. The Commodore game could mess up your monitor.

Fortunately, I was a very slow typist back then :o)

I'll bet that the anti-music industry brigade is made up of smarter computer geeks than the ones working for the RIAA, too.

First: the RIAA can pay better. Money DOES talk.

Second: The RIAA can pay OTHER people very nicely.

I tend to remember that there was one for the old Apple ][ series... could have been Commodore though. Those programs that used to use the floppy drive to play music were pretty cool at the time. Always wondered if they damaged the drives somehow.

"Call waiting is making an absolute mess of my internet connection"

You do know that you can set your computer to turn off your call waiting while you are on line, don't you?

I've heard rumors that Hatch is a retard, but I refused to believe them. Okay, now I'm convinced.

What the esteemed Whorin' Atch needs is a pet prairie dog. That would certify your allegation.

Well, it was a long time ago - at least 20 years.

The surprise remarks by Sen. Orrin Hatch

Surprise remarks? I am so not surprised that Hatch would be the one to come up with something like this.

Why?

He has stood up to Leahy on occasions, which is more than most other Republicans do. I praise him for that. However, he blew it on this one.

"What's next??? The dems get into power and blow up our computers for participating in FR???? Or listening to Rush 24/7?????"

Entitlement programs never decrease in size. Same is true for incursions into individual freedoms.

"Hmmm, mmaybe we can chip the Senators, and then when they vote like morons...."

If we implant a chip, maybe we can remotely destroy Senators when they take an illegal campaign contribution?
