My daughter is a stay at home mom by choice. She lives in a small town where there are virtually no Hispanics.

Hispanics influencing this is wishful thinking in this article.

It would be nice if the article stated how many moms stayed at home without welfare benefits compared to those who get welfare benefits.

Luckily, somewhere long the way, the light bulb went off and I realized that I could easily be replaced in the work force but no one could replace me as my kid's mom.

I had bought into the feminist myth that educated women are not stay at home moms. Wrong! Pretty much every stay at home mom I know has a degree and then some.

Also read that women that leave the work force are looked down upon. Another myth. It's more like a combination of envy and respect.

Dumping my job for my husband and children was the best decision I have ever made. I left a six figure career to obtain something priceless. Looking back, I can't believe it was a hard choice at the time. Live and learn.

"Those children that were in day care growing up are now becoming mothers themselves, and now they don't want their kids to become day care children," she said. "Their mom may not have been home when they got home from school, so perhaps they want something different for their family."

No. They want something BETTER for their family.

Children need the consistency, stability, discipline, and loving of a stay-at-home parent... I don't really think it matters whether it's the father or mother, but one or the other needs to be there and provide a homely environment for children.

All day care does to kids is turn them into pack or herd animals...

I am 28. My generation WAS the latchkey kid generation and we all know how much it sucked. We dont' want to do that to our kids, so a lot of people are staying home. Plus, now it seems like daycare is much less wholesome than it used to be.
