Golly gee, duh. Ain't that something?
I sure enough hope Simon & Schuster isn't blowing wind in its shareholders' face for the express purpose of hiding losses on the Hitlery debacle.
If S&S stupidly paid Hil $8M and is now trying to salvage its decision by misrepresenting itself......golly, that's kinda like Martha telling the public everything was OK when it wasn't.
Does S&S know there are laws prohibiting saying one thing in public when you know the facts to be otherwise in private?

I gotta wonder how many copies Bubba's been out buyin'. And all the contributors to the Clinton Defense Fund. I can think of maybe one or two folks who would buy this book.

I don't know why it strikes people here at FR as odd that people outside of FR think Hillary is a celebrity and thus buy books written by her-- as they do with other celebrities.

I wonder how much S&S had to ante up to BW and ABC to get BW to do the nicey-interview--in prime time?

I may be crazy but I thought the advance was 2.something million and the total paid for the book was 8 million.

Some article the other day said they were selling 200,000 copies a day...I think Mia T posted that. At 200,000 a day, times 7 days, that would be 1,400,000 copies sold, not 600,000. Somebody lied about something!
To: Liz
I'm hearing on the local radio that the sales aren't anywhere near that number, that's it all a part of the media and publisher's hype. After all, you can't have the 2004 Dem Candidate for Presidency turn in a lowly 28,000 sales after you've given her an $8 Million advance.

Simon and Schuster havn't learned the most important lesson: "It's not the crime; it's the cover-up."
Myself, I think the SEC should send in the auditors.

Listening to Chris Ruddy now on F & F and he says the book ISN'T selling.

Christopher Ruddy, Newsmax, is on Fox&Friends now.
Hillary's book backfires.
Upstaged by Monica again (via book).
Glossed over all the "gates" (whitewatergate, travelgate, etc.)
Says Lucienne Goldberg says "no way did Hillary's book sell that many the first day."
Hook of book based on Monica; Hillary would just be a "shadow of her husband" if she were president.
Question is lie that conflicts with Blumenthal's and other account that she really wasn't that angry.

Hmmm...the listing below is from
Publisher's Weekly, the authority in book publishing, for HardCover Non-Fiction through June 16, 2003. Hillary's book didn't even make the list.
Something smells about all the "sales" reports.

Does S&S know there are laws prohibiting saying one thing in public when you know the facts to be otherwise in private? We gotta stay on top of this and make sure EXPOSURE takes place when the truth comes out.

Don't despair, never believe anything from the first reports, especially from someone like Simon & Shuster who have a vested interest in Hillary's book, "Living History". Never take anything from a liberal source at face value. Hillary's book is now #3 on the Amazon.com best seller list, having been knocked the #2 spot off twice in one week, first by "Beyond Iraq" and now by "Harry Potter". Looking a bit deeper, Ms. Clinton's book rates only a "paltry" two and one half stars. All of the other books on the Amazon.con top ten listed are either not rated because they have not been published yet, or they hold ratings of four or more stars. Couple that with the fall of Sid Blumenthal's book to #63 on the Amazon.com list, and that indicates Hillary's book has already had its "great" run. A careful observer will note that Sid & Hillary's book have been tied together and one will also note that Amazon.com has already reduced its "two for one" sale price less than one week after Hillary's book went on-sale. My friends, things don't always appear as they are seen or printed! Hillary will tank within the next three to four weeks. It is just a shame that we conservatives could not muster up the support to drive Ann Coulter's new book, "Treason" to to the top of the best seller list last week, but it did reach #10 and that ain't bad for a book not yet in publication! I may be laughed at, but in my humble opinion, Hillary Clinton is toast. This is not political. The vast amount of Americans believe she and her husband Bill are lying all the time, and that includes millions of Democrat Party folks who wish they would just go away! The Democrat Party is in serious trouble and could end as a permanent minority party for many years to come. The first move for them should be to can Terry McAulliffe and silence the Clintons for good!

Hmmmm? According to Rush this morning - there was a worker from S&S who said there was no way they had printed 1 mil books - the reason was because they had no place to store it. Also ... according to same worker ... the story of 200,000 the first day was a calculation they could not possibly be able to make and they didn't know where the number came from ...?? Geeeeeee! I bet I can take a wild guess and get it correct ...??
