I told my secretary(age 25) that Gregory Peck died and she said who? Damn I must be getting old.
To: HELLRAISER II
Better to be "old" and have lived during a much better era in my opinion.
To: MeeknMing
It seems with the passing of Gregory Peck, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, Burt Lancaster the only classic actor left is Kirk Douglas.
To: Eowyn-of-Rohan
Oh I agree 100%, it's just that i'm 38 and I figured she would know who Gregory Peck was for pete's sake.

Spartacus & War Wagon were two of my favorites with Kirk Douglas, but there's a couple you don't have down Charlton Heston & Clint Eastwood. Clint's not quite as old but he's no spring chicken either, I'll really hate it when my boy Dirty Harry bites the dust.

My 13 year old knows who Gregory Peck is. We've watched "To Kill a Mockingbird" a hundred times if we/ve watched it once.

Even though Gregory Peck was very liberal, he was a one of the finest actors ever. Peck received top billing from his first movie roll.
The first time my parents took me to a premiere movie release, was for to the "Guns of Navarone" in 1961. Real sterophonic sound and a blockbuster adventure. Peck was great and along with Anthony Quinn, gave this young child an experience to remember. Other rolls that Peck were great in, "To Kill A Mockingbird", "Gentlemen's Agrrement" and "The Big Country". In the latter film, Peck's fist fight with Charlten Heston was a classic.
RIP Gregory Peck.

Bump for one of the last of the pro-life liberals.

There's few of the original actors left from the Golden Age of Hollywood and the list is getting very short.
Glenn Ford, Charton Heston, Karl Malden, Tony Curtis, Van Johnson, Richard Widmark, Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Kirk Douglas, Ernest Borgnine, Ricardo Montalbon, Jerry Lewis, Eddie Albert, Jack Palance, Mickey Rooney, Bob Hope and of course Ronald Reagan.
An era is ending.
To: MeeknMing
Saw him in the Omen recently - excellent acting!
To: Clemenza
Peck was pro-life? Didn't know that. May be he wasn't as big a liberal as I thought he was.
To: Reagan Man
Yep. Despite his horribly leftist views, he was a lifelong opponent of abortion.
