MARCH FOR FREEDOM OF CHOICE (Freep opportunity alert)

Join us on April 25, 2004

The time is right for a public demonstration of historic size in support of abortion rights and reproductive freedom for all women. Our rights are under attack as they haven't been in over a decade, and Roe v. Wade hangs by a thread in the Supreme Court. You can help build the momentum we need to preserve our rights. Please join us to Save Women's Lives: March for Freedom of Choice.

To demonstrate overwhelming majority support for a woman’s right to choose safe, legal abortion and birth control, the largest pro-choice majority in history will march on Washington on Sunday April 25, 2004.

For the first time ever this pro-choice march is a collaborative effort - four leading national women’s rights groups have come together to organize this momentous event. The Feminist Majority, NARAL Pro-Choice America, National Organization for Women and Planned Parenthood Federation of America are the principal organizers of the March for Freedom of Choice and have pooled efforts and resources to lay the groundwork. Other progressive organizations have signed on as co-sponsors - offering everything from member participation to help spreading the word and help defraying costs.

The march will begin at noon from the Lincoln Memorial, although participants may begin assembling as early as 10 a.m. After marching on Washington, a rally will be held from 1-4 p.m. on the National Mall. Special seating will be available for people with disabilities. The rally program will be signed for the hearing impaired. The route is wheelchair accessible and transportation will be provided for those who cannot negotiate the route.

I watched a Press Club presentation by spokeshags from the orginizations named above. With almost a whole year to plan, Freepers from back east should be able to put together an impressive Freeping for this event.

I heard recently that a majority of Americans now believe human life begins at conception. Anyone know where that came from?

Why April 25th?

Did they decide not to pick January, 22, because they would have obviously fewer numbers than pro-lifers?

I execrise my freedom of choice every day.

I choose my shirt. I choose my pants. I choose my breakfast. I choose to go to the bathroom. I choose to blow my nose. I choose to go outside. I choose to go inside. I choose to go to the market. I choose to go home from the market. I choose my lunch. I choose to cut the grass. I choose to pet my dogs. I choose to terrorize my neighbors cat. I choose to kill the rabbit that has been eating my flowers. I choose to feed the birds and the squirrels. I choose to watch the Fox News Channel. I choose to watch Babylon 5 DVDs. I choose to listen to Bach. I choose my dinner. I choose to go to bed.

I don't need no stinking march to 'preserve' my 'right to choose'.

I will never understand why murder is a choice. Sex is a choice. Contraception is a choice. Adoption is a choice. Murder? How can it be? And whether someone believes life begins at conception or not, they cannot seriously claim that it only begins at birth. What about premature babies? Are they a life? Abortion is the most selfish act in the world.

Do you suppose they would be upset if I marched for freedom of choice concerning the 2nd Amendment?

January 22 is the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade and the annual March for Life.

I choose to watch Babylon 5 DVDs.

Now that is a real freedom to chose, but I still wish I could lay my hands on a PGP.

Hmmm.."Freedom of Choice" -- Doesn't that phrase have a nice ring to it? Here's a look at "choice": I have the freedom to let my unborn baby be born OR I can give my baby up for adoption OR I can abort (kill) my unborn baby. Now, why would I march for "choice?"

Personally, I choose LIFE.

Thanks. You might have guessed I'm sort of a newby to the pro-life side.

With almost a year to plan the different churches and pro-life organizations should be able to arrange for about 3 pro-life demonstrators to show up for every pro-abortion marcher. That would turn their claim of vast public support for abortion rights on its head.

I know it offends the left when we use the word "murder," but what else do you call it? I usually dutifully avoid the word because it redirects the debate, but that's still what I believe abortion is.
