WASHINGTON (AP) -- Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor stuck by his strong comments against abortion and gays Wednesday, winning Democrats' respect for his candor but criticism for views they suggested would cloud his rulings as a federal appeals judge.
The Republican-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee is likely to approve Pryor's appointment to Atlanta's 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, but some Democrats have hinted they might try to filibuster the nomination on the floor -- a technique they're using against some of President Bush's judicial nominees.

The article forgets to mention how Schumer and Feinstein both came just short of saying that no practicing Catholic is fit to be a federal judge.
More like his views on the constitution wouldn't cloud his judgement or ethics as he could'nt be counted on as an activist judge
"My wife and I have two daughters who at the time were 6 and 4 years old," Pryor said. "We made a value judgment."

Dear Mr. Eisner: My family and I recently returned from a trip to your establishment. We even stayed on Disney property so we could experience the "Magic of Disney 24 hours a day" as stated on your video. This was a vacation that we had planned and saved for for many years.
This was a vacation that my children will always remember, but not because it was a magical family vacation, but because of Disney's Gay Day. You advertise a family theme park, but you promote a park for gays.
Had Disney done the responsible thing and announced that June 7 was to be Disney Gay Day, we would have planned our vacation at a more appropriate time for children. We realize that Gay Day was not officially sponsored by Disney, but was an event that has taken place for seven consecutive years.
We wanted to make our vacation full of good memories for our children. Instead I will tell you the memories our children walked away with. The number of gays attending was probably over 80 percent. Parents were leaving with their children at a steady pace at noon when we left. Many gays were wearing shirts with inappropriate sayings printed on them.
My children saw even more than the shirts. They actually witnessed gay people making out and fondling one another. This behavior is not accepted in the heterosexual world.
This is not what I consider a Disney "Magical Moment." We heard lots of inappropriate talk from gay people all around us. We witnessed a gay man making advances toward a boy who must have been 13 or 14 years of age while waiting in line with his two younger siblings for a ride. The boy was extremely frightened.
One of the things we are most angry about is having a gay man watching my 13-year-old son urinate when he went to the bathroom. After that he would not use the restrooms again. That is considered sexual harassment.
Gay Day was not to educate people about gays and their rights, but an attempt to solicit small children into becoming gay, as well as for gays to find partners. Having always been open minded and allowing others to choose their own lifestyles, we have to admit that this experience has certainly changed our minds where gays are concerned. Rather than just choosing a particular lifestyle for themselves, they were wanting to recruit children to their way of life.
Everyone has a right to choose for himself, but has no right to try to force this behavior on other people, particularly children.
Therefore, thanks to Disney and Gay Day, our vacation was ruined. The dream we had of a magical family vacation was shattered by the very company who makes that promise.
Had we been informed about Gay Day ahead of time, we would have chosen another time to go to Disney World or we would have chosen another destination.
While at Disney we called customer service to file an official complaint. We were told that someone from the company would be contacting us either prior to our checkout or within a couple of weeks after returning home. We left Disney on June 8 and have yet to hear from anyone from your company.
We resent the position we were put into as we were left with having to explain this situation to our children, who are fairly innocent of the gay world. Disney owes us some type of restitution in view of the lost vacation and money.

This raises the total confirmed nominees to 131.... Sen. Hatch has 50 nominees in Committee that haven't had hearings.
- Mark R. Kravitz, of Connecticut, to be United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut
97 - 0, 3 not voting
- J. Ronnie Greer, of Tennessee, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee
97 - 0, 3 not voting
- Richard C. Wesley, of New York, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit
96 - 0, 4 not voting
Good news! Could be much better, but good news all the same.
Had I been Mr. Pryor I would have asked Senator Feingold if he had young kids or grandchildren, and if he has ever taken them to Disney's "Gay Days". Had Feingold said no, I would have said "Until you see what goes on there, shut your friggin mouth".
But then, I'm not trying to be a judge. I'm really getting sick of these sanctimonious(sp?) assholes who think they know best.
