(CNSNews.com) - Seven white employees of the Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library System are victims of race discrimination, and the county must pay $16.8 million in damages, a federal appeals court has ruled. A three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court's ruling that three members of the library board and the system director knew it was illegal to consider race in personnel decisions but nevertheless transferred the women to lesser jobs. The appellate court decision, which was written by Judge Susan Black, said library officials intentionally discriminated "on the basis of race and used trickery and deceit to cover it up under the guise of a 'reorganization.'" Black also noted that a library board member complained publicly about a "white-dominated administration" and "too many white faces." Fulton County Attorney O. V. Brantley said she will recommend that the county commissioners request a hearing before the full appellate court, which could reverse the panel's decision.

ROFL.
Right, we should force majority set-asides on black dominated social clubs, and pioneer the integration of the Urban League and NAACP. Yeah, that's fine, but you join first, okay? I got better things to do.

I use the Fulton Co. libraries and I'm familiar with a number of these white librarians. They are very dedicated. They were trying to do their job in a library system devoid of good leadership. They started to complain and were demoted. I'm glad they're winning in court.
BTW, a few years ago the Fulton Co. Commissioner, a Republican, asked Neal Boortz to be on the Library Board. Neal attended one board meeting and quit. He couldn't stand the idiocy of the Library Board.

Do you mean to say that because blacks are isolated from whites that this gives them cause to do things like this? If your answer is yes, then I will have to disagree with you.
I don't give a flying fig what universities the blacks attended and I could care less if they choose to live in an all black neighborhood....I do care that they not discriminate against ANYONE of any RACE. Too many white faces sounds very racist to me!

The white folks still lose! Think of the irony of it:
1. The workers are moved to lower paying positions.
2. They receive less money.
3. They win the suit.
4. They are rewarded by having their county taxes and insurance raised by huge lawsuit awards against the county not the individuals involved.
5. The people who discriminated received no measurable punishment nor did they inflict any financial damage to themselves.
The only winners in this suit were the lawyers and the perpetrators of the deeds.

Good news.

I live in Georgia. These stupid people have cost Georgia big money. These black racist libraraians made no bones about why the white librarians were demoted. Apparently, they don't think civil rights apply to white people. When they realized they were in trouble, they invented documents - after the fact - to conceal their blatant racism. All of them should be fired!

You live in the great state of Georgia huh? I used to live in Georgia myself....and I loved it! I remember reading about some white firemen who were kept from getting promotions, so that black firemen could get the promotions. I think it was Albany Georgia but I'm not sure. Have you heard anything about this?

I'm merely pointing out that to integrate black universities, whites must attend them. And whites don't WANT to attend black universities, even PRIVATE black universities, for myriad reasons, probably not least of which is the pisspoor attitude many blacks have toward white people who invade 'their turf.' That and black alumni and legislator alumni of those schools do a pisspoor job of funding their alma mater after they leave, and the schools are completely trashed as a result, even 'flagship' black universities like Howard, which is a dump.
I completely understand what you're saying about blacks isolating themselves politically. What that means is that in the long run, they'll be the core Democrat voters and hopefully, eager to quit the process after they consistently lose because of their liberal views, so that we don't have to pander to them anymore.
After all, in most areas, blacks are the RAT reps in Congress, and that's because RATs haven't been able to spread out their voting influence through redistricting in many states. Where they have spread the black vote thin, inevitably a white or hispanic candidate has to run for the RATs to get the district. Blacks are marginalized simply because they are so liberal. No other group besides Native Americans or maybe Puerto Ricans has been so effective at keeping its own people in poverty, and you'd think that as a group someone big would finally realize that. Maybe Al Sharpton will get it.
Nah...but I'm voting for him anyway, at least in the primary.
