CORONA, Calif. (AP) - A family who angered a waiter at a Norco Sizzler restaurant later was served a few dishes they didn't order: a gallon of maple syrup, raw eggs, and rolls of toilet paper across their lawn and shrubs. Wayne Keller, 37, wife Darlene, 40, and their two children, had their home and mailbox saturated Saturday with smashed eggs and maple syrup. Their yard was decorated with toilet paper, duct tape and plastic wrap.

Pretty funny. This happened in my friend's old neighborhood.

When I am angered by my service, which doesn't happen often, I leave just a penny. But I ensure that I never go back to the place again. Now I guess I'm going to have to shake my tail on the way home now like they do in spy movies.

I've never not left a tip, however, not because I'm scared of the wait staff. I've never had someone so bad that I didn't want to leave a tip.

Seriously - they were TP'ed, not "violated". If I was violating people when I TPed them, my eighth grade friends and I have some serious criminal charges to answer to.

By itself, I would agree that their story sounds pretty extreme. However, after seeing the reaction of the waiter, their story could very well be true. There is something definitely wrong with that guy.

If you're not going to leave a tip, don't pay the bill with your credit card. Use cash.

How do you think the waiter knew where they lived? He looked up the guy's name and address in the phone book.

One gallon of maple syrup is expensive.

Sounds like he may have ripped off the Sizzler's pantry for raiding supplies.

Whatever, further investigation is warranted.

Doesn't take much to push some people right over the edge.

As a former waitress I can tell you that were I treated like that by a waiter, I would not tip him either. I am a big promoter of tips since I did this hard job for years, but not when it is totally undeserved.

The Kellers turned out to be nice civilized people who called the police rather then coming out with baseball bats and using the waiter and his brothers as piñatas.

There are those who would not have been so restrained.

My mother has waitressed for years. I'd never do it because people are obnoxious & one of my strongest reasons for believing that we are all eeevvviiilll.

My mother's expierences leave me to believe the Keller's are eeevvviiilll and some people with less stamina/tolerance than my saintly Mommy would lose it when dealing with some of the losers who dine at cheap restuarants, expect 5 star service and don't want to leave a tip. More than likely they were coniving for a FREE MEAL.

The fact that other family members left tips was probably an attempt to make up for them and because they were embarrassed by their behavior. I've had to do this before along with an apology FOR:

My mother-in-law, she has perfected eeevvviiilllness! Complain, whine, I want this, I want that, calls them names blah blah blah... grrrrr!

Sounds like my brother's m-i-l. She proudly admits she never tips. She always complains too hot, too cold, too this, too that. One time after dining in an Indian restaurant, she said the bread and water were the only good things there.

I know a family that refuses to tip anyone that serves them. Father has passed this down to sons. Feels that anyone should feel privileged to have served them. Barf.
