Anyone familiar with the New York Times' (NYT) bias against men was not surprised by the Jayson Blair scandal, in which a reporter blatantly falsified stories for years. NYT is notorious for pitching gender feminism in slanted, one-sided reports. The systemic dishonesty exhibited by the Blair scandal was not an isolated incident. When it comes to coverage of men, it seems to be policy at the Gray Lady.....

... as long as they're highly profitable....and they are. That would depend on the business unit. The circulation of the NYTs was down 50K in the early days of the war. Probably
more now, since they're losing a lot of fiction writers.
Oh, and the expenses related to fire-fighting, severance, rental of a theatre, work slowdowns, ...
The other business units (European-based Tribune, a couple of broadcast properties, etc.) might be generating
the majority of the profits.
OTOH, people might be inclined to think the sports pages are worth reading again, now that Howell isn't around to spike
stories. And the business section.
