I have always thought that those "Pirates of the Caribbean" were much too happy to bee in their own company.

"Disney execs, without publicly endorsing Gay Days, have bent over backwards..." Are they sure they don't mean frontwards?

On a positive note, Disney's Might Ducks lost Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals last night, after Eisner himself promised that he would have a victory parade for the team after they won the series.

The really nasty thing about this "unofficial" relationship is that thousands of uninformed, unsuspecting families -- and by that I mean the traditional hetero version, of course -- spend thousands to travel to the Orlando area and spend 2+ days at the resort only to find out that the place has been turned over to to a decidedly un-G-rated crowd.

1. They homosexuals intentionally picked the first weekend after school lets out and many familiys go to the parks.
2. Disney must warn families when this event is going to happen.
3. Disney has absolute control over the mouse ear logo. The fact that disney does not send a copyright cease and desist letter is not passive agreeemnt it is active agreement. It can and should be used to break their copyright.
4. 1300000 is absurd, if 110000 people are in the magic kingdom they close the park to ne visitors. Sounds like someone is exagerating again (10% vs 1%)

I used to take my kids to Disneyland years ago. When the "gay" love affair began with Eisner, I stopped taking the Disney diversion. I discuss the homosexual promotion with any co-worker who has expressed interest in a family vacation including Disneyland. Its not unusual, then, for an alteration to ensue involving a different amusement park.
No, it's not that there is anything wrong with the homosexual, alternate lifestyle.
I just don't think many families want to cater to it. We may want to sit back and see if 1-3% of the population will keep faerieland open.

Maybe a freeper can help out.....Is there a 'Police Beat' or some type of listing for Disney? Do they even have their own police? Might the Orlando paper cover it?
I'm interested in comparing the happenings during the 'Gay Days' vs what goes on during a 'normal' week. We've heard plenty of anecdotal stuff here at FR; it would be good to see it backed up.

130,000 gays flooding the Park during their stay is just about right on the money.
Speaking of $$$'s, always follow the money trail. Disney does not see homosexuals, it sees green. The average gay drops an inordinate amount of cash per day at Disney World.
They are a generally affluent group. They have no spouses or kids, so they have more disposable money to spend at the park. They seek out the better restaurants and stay at the high-priced hotels on the grounds rather than at a Motel 6 on the Orlando Strip. They get caught up in the bonding and festive mood of Gay Days with child-like glee, buying inordinate amounts of souvenirs, gifts and fast food and drinks. They party in the Disney night spots till late at night, dropping beaucoup bucks.
Disney Corp. has made mega-millions from its homosexual and lesbian visitors over the years. So don't look for it to stop the music, ever.

For 13 years, Disney and Gay Days organizers have had an "unofficial" relationship in which the Disney execs, without publicly endorsing Gay Days, have bent over backwards to make sure the accommodations fit the needs of those participating in the gala.I think the Disney execs "bend over frontwards" for Gay Days.

At the first "Gay Days" get-together at Disney, the organizers asked that the gays wear red shirts so they could recognize each other.
To this day, Disney will give each straight a free Disney shirt if he or she unknowingly wears a red shirt and complains to management.

Gay Days at Disneyland is merely an homage to what is probably the largest gay working force in the industry: AT Disney.
