Our Cruise Ship the "Triumph"
First stop, Cozumel Mexico!
Great Beaches!
Seclusion...
...and FUN!
Next, off to Grand Cayman!
...and STINGRAY CITY!
Diotima, Darly and Seeking the Truth!
DON'T GET OUT OF THE BOAT!
Careful...they BITE!
"You grab them like this, then toss them on the bar-b-que before they can bar-b-you!"
"Honey, if we throw them one of the kids, maybe they'll leave us alone."
Darn, those Cayman beaches are ugly...
FReepers enjoying the sand and sun!
On to Jamaica!
Morning in Ocho Rios
Very old Spanish built bridge
Tubing anyone?
"Dear, the waters a little colder than at the beach..."
Even the rivers are aquamarine
You just can't beat Jamaica for their 5 star facilities...
I'm okay with jerk chicken, but skank jerk chicken?
Plenty of places to steal away in the Jamaican Jungle
Back in Ocho Rios, we found this absolutely stunning restaurant at the base of a waterfall called "The Ruins". Here are some shots...
Someone say "dinner"?
Shots from around the ship
BobfromNJ and the dreaded Clinton "VOODOO DOLL"
Well, he WAS our first black prez...
That's all for now folks! Plenty more pics but we won't bore you too much! Hope you can make it with us next time and until then...
Take it easy, mon!"

(W)hen I think of a cruise - I think of being pampered, leisure, comfort - not doing my best to get blisters! Well, there is always THIS option ...

Fantastic pics. I am so jealous! However, we need names to go with the pictures. The rest of us aren't mindreaders you know.

I know I picked a really good one. Sure sounds like it. OTOH, my ex left me when I made noises about wanting to go back to school to finish my Masters.
I envy your situation, and am glad that you found each other. Congratulations to you for picking a good 'un and to hubby for getting a good 'un.
A neat story - thanks for posting it!

Fantastic pictures.
Next cruise to Alaska, huh? Sounds perfect, but will they have ladies who do Eskimo hair? **ducking**

"Opus" posted and the process of getting back into the economy begun. It has been a pleasure and my privilege to meet (and play) (and drink) (and sing) with most of you.

I read that the streets in Ocho Rios were lifeless and crowded. Is it a nice town to visit? (Trying to plan my Jamaica trip)

Barbara, will be getting pictures tomorrow. Have had them put on a disk so you can see them, or if APD will help, will post a couple of the horseback riding. What great fun. Do wish I could ride through the waves everyday! I agree it was much too short, but I am happy to be back in the woods of Southern Indiana.
I'm ready fo another sail. But really do want to go on a "Tall ship" with a star to guide her by. I must go down to the sea again.

Ask Colonel Jim that questions. He might tell you a few stories.

We did a private tour through A-ZJamaicaPlanners.com, and had a really nice and funny guide named Oscar. He picked us up from the boat, and took us all over the island, to Dunn's River Falls, through Fern Gully, to Wasai Pottery Arts, then tubing on the White River, and to the Ruins for lunch (where we ran into BobJ and Diotima). It was a great time, and the price was fantastic, $50 each, plus lunch, much cheaper than the tours offered through the cruise lines. I hooked up with them through cruisecritic.com I would highly recommend booking with a tour group, as the vendors and cab drivers in Jamaica are really aggressive, and I heard some horror stories of people getting ripped off by them on our cruise (one family of four got soaked for $1,000 for an "island tour" by a taxi driver), so it pays to book ahead of time with a reputable firm. I haven't had a chance to watch the video that they made of our entire trip, but we all had a blast!

From what I understand, an Alaskan Cruise has the inside track for next year!
NOW we're talkin'...
Love the Klinton voodoo doll...don't forget to "put some ice on it"

I would not advise walking into Ocho Rios. You will be accosted every 5 feet by "natives" purporting to drive you anywhere for a few dollars. It is a real gauntlet.
I've been just about all over this planet and never really felt ill at ease; even behind the iron curtain in the old cold war days.
Nothing happened but it was a mistake to take my wife there. The looks/leers are rather disconcerting, to say the least.
There was a lot of police presence but still there are a lot more locals than police.

I hate to ask this, but what is it that was cut off and now resides in Bill's left hand? ;) I swear he has that, "I fell your pain look", is there a reason? LOL

I'm so glad you guys had so much fun. I'm still waiting for a "landlubber's" cruise. I understand that someone has made a riverbarge into a fancy hotel that plys the Miss. and Ohio Rivers.

Dang. The first "Cayman Beaches are Ugly" pic with the two cruise ships anchored in Georgetown Harbour looks like the same two ships I saw out my hotel window one morning last week.
I could very well have passed some Freepers by without knowing it. You cruise ship folks didn't get to spend enough time there.
