DNC and Schwarzenegger have dirt file on Condoleezza (Condi) Rice?
Washington Post ^ | 6-4-03 | Lloyd Grove

Posted on 06/06/2003 8:47:46 AM PDT by GraniteStateConservative

Under grilling by social critic Camille Paglia and Radar editor Maer Roshan, the proprietor of the billion-hit-a-year Drudgereport.com claims that the DNC has assembled a "really thick . . . dirt file" on Condoleezza Rice.

On Rice: "Oh, she's a powerhouse! But the DNC has a dirt file on her that is really thick. Think of 'The Contender,' or those other movies that have warned what happens when a female candidate has some dirt she'd rather hide."

As for the so-called "dirt file," DNC Communications Director Debra DeShong gave a non-denial denial. "We don't talk about our research," she said, "but we understand that Arnold Schwarzenegger" -- who might face President Bush's national security adviser in the GOP primary of a future California governor's race -- "has a real good file on her."

Of course the DNC has a hefty dirt file on Condi! That's what they do best -- generate dirt on people. And if there isn't enough out there to collect, they'll make some up.

No, you use information when you get a big bang for your buck. They're waiting for us to draw our Condi card and then they'll play their dirt card to try and trump us. They're scared sh!tless about running against Condi in any race.

Hmm. HIs file is pretty thick too. People who live in glass houses....well...that's probably why they wanted to get all that stuff out years ago. For her sake, I hope the stuff isn't really embarrassing.

Conclusions we can reach from reading this :

1. The California Rats are very, very afraid of Schwartzenegger, and are trying to make him look like a dirty campaigner. I doubt he has any more than the usual file on all possible opponents, and I doubt seriously he is digging up dirt. It would not be characteristic. Rats would love to plant the idea that Schwartzenegger has dirt on Condi, the better to make us look askance at both.

2. Any information on Condi that isn't in the public domain (and believe me, the media has been trying to dig stuff up on her for at least the last three years) must either be manufactured or something from her youth which has been in her security clearance investigations. Anything which comes out like that would be tagged as to its source. If it is medical in nature then it is a double breach of confidentiality, particularly if it doesn't affect her performance in elected office.

My personal opinion is that this is simply the slime machine throwing mud by proxy, in the hopes that some conservatives will be willing to go with another, less Rat-threatening candidate.

So they can release the dirt anonymously, and make it look like Schwartzenegger did it. B@$+@2ds.

It would be political suicide for the Democrats to try and smear Condi Rice. Methinks they better stick to losing elections, they're much better at that

She's dated some men like NFL great Gene Washington of the Broncos (he attended as her "date" the recent state dinner for the Philippine president), but I can't think of what they'd come up with on her. The medical idea is intriguing.

I found this excerpt from that same page more interesting:

Never mind the blockbuster autobiography by that other former first lady. We hear Barbara Bush's latest is so hot that her publisher's in-house libel lawyers are asking her to tone it down. Which makes us wonder which of the famously frank author's least favorite people should be assuming a defensive crouch or purchasing a Kevlar vest.

"Reflections," Bush's memoir of the eight years between her husband's and son's presidencies, is being published Oct. 14 by Lisa Drew/Scribner. We hear that the recently completed manuscript -- every word written by the 77-year-old wife of George Bush the elder -- contains nearly a dozen passages that have caused the lawyers heartburn. In a couple of instances, we're told, the author has agreed to changes, but in most cases, she's sticking to her guns.

Yesterday we surveyed several Bush family friends to get an idea of which people might be the best-selling author's juiciest targets. The speculation includes cartoonist Garry Trudeau and New York Times pundit Maureen Dowd (relentless critics of the current President Bush), 1980 Bush campaign speechwriter turned Bill Clinton aide David Gergen, Democrat Ann Richards and independent candidate Ross Perot ("that woman" and "that horrid little man," respectively, in the Barbara Bush lexicon) and Republicans Patrick Buchanan, Steve Forbes and John McCain, who drew Bush blood in various political campaigns.

Former president Bush's chief of staff Jean Becker, one of the few who have seen the book, declined to comment except to predict: "It's going to be a very interesting book -- very chatty and very conversational, with Barbara Bush's typically refreshing and candid opinions about life."

I chuckled the first time I read this, because having alleged there is dirt on the National Security Advisor - who is entrusted with vital intelligence - no doubt Lloyd Grove will himself be investigated, and a "file" will be the result. LOL!

This is another really stupid move.

The liberals are in meltdown mode over Martha Stewart and the usual mantra of ~powerful, competent woman is victim of patriarchal powers~ ~they (whoever they are) are picking on a selfmade woman. ~They are going after a liberated female CEO.

Go ahead. Bash Condi. Just another nail in the DNC coffin.

Arnold has too much in his background. This is obviously why he is gathering info.

He should bow out and retire from public life.
