Teacher Resigns After Porn Found in Classroom

AMERICAN FORK, Utah (AP) -- A teacher at American Fork Junior High School has resigned after pornographic videotapes were found in his classroom.
The tapes were found in three duffel bags hidden above the ceiling tiles in the classroom. There was no indication that any students had seen the tapes, which were discovered by maintenance workers on Tuesday. Class had let out for the year last Friday.
Alpine School Superintendent Vern Henshaw said he was not releasing the teacher's name. The teacher was suspended after the tapes were found, and he has since resigned.
The matter was referred to police, but Lt. Darren Falslev said there was nothing illegal about the 30 videos. Falslev did say he thought it was inappropriate to store the tapes at a school. No criminal charges will be filed, however.
Falslev said the teacher cooperated with the investigation and apparently just didn't want to keep the tapes at home.

Detective Sgt. Michael Madden said the couple was in possession of "hundreds of pornographic videos and hundreds of pornographic magazines and photographs."

Louisville-AP) -- A Louisville teacher has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.David Meredith was arrested on May 15th at his apartment after postal inspectors delivered five videotapes to him depicting children engaged in sexually explicit activity, according to court records. He was indicted on a charge of attempting to receive child pornography. Meredith is due in court on June 24th for an arraignment.

He won't need to worry about being unemployed for too long. Just about anywhere else, the teacher's union would make it impossible for this guy to be punished.
Guy is recently married or has a live in girlfriend and was probably ordered to throw them away.
