Check out California Bus. & Prof. code sec. 17200 and related case law if you're really interested. It doesn't have the traditional fraud requirements--reliance, etc. Plaintiff's bar has used it for years to wreak havoc on businesses. I think it would be beautiful to turn it around and use it against the liberals who wrote it.

Where is the law stating that non-married people cannot call themselves married?

Check out the California constitution. Only marriage between a man and woman is recognized. And the issue here isn't what Reichen and Chip say--it's what CBS says. Reichen and Chip can call themselves the Queens of England if they want. But if CBS misleadingly broadcasts it as fact--and does so while selling advertising--its arguably prohibited by law.

There is no law against the false assertion of marriage. I cannot call myself a lawyer not just because I am one but because there is a specific law stating that holding yourself out to be a lawyer when you are not one is prohibited by law.

Once again, let me say it more slowly: The issue is not what Reichen and Chip say about themselves--they can call themselves the Brilliant Princes of the Magical Rainbow Wonderland if they want to. The issue here is what CBS represents to the public as matters of fact. Here, CBS is representing that Reichen and Chip are "married," which is simply not true.

As a follow up, if you truly believe there is no law against the false assertion of marriage, try filing a joint tax return with someone who isn't your spouse. Then let me know, and I'll pass that on to the IRS. We'll see if you have any legal consequences.

She asked me what I was talking about, (DUMB!)I answered the misleading advertising of a married gay couple on the show Amazing Race.....OKAY she says! GUESS THEY DON'T CARE!

Freeped but I don't think it will do any good. Homos are in charge at CBS.

"Two men is not a marriage. It's pretend marriage," says Robert Knight, a former news editor at the Los Angeles Times...It is idolatry of perversion...

I remarked to my husband the other night after seeing the depiction of the couple as "married" that it seems the media is slowly trying to make it normal to be gay....flame me if you wish , but I don't think gay couples are in the mainstream yet.

Virgins? Has any state certified that?

"I have a background in Psychology..."
A class or two? You're a shrink? You go to therapy? What's your background?
"and tons of research proves that homosexuality can be reversed."
Yeah.. lots of people who make money "curing" homosexuals have "proven" that homosexuals who have been raised to hate homosexuality and loathe themselves will marry someone and claim that they are cured. Especially if "cured" means you can still fantasize about people of the same sex.
"There is NO biological basis for homosexuality."
Now you assert that a negative has been proven.
"Researchers spent billions trying to find the 'gay' gene....their conclusion was that none exists."
Source, please.
"Conclusion: Homosexuality results from environmental factors."
Sorry.. no one can say for certain what the source is. Most people on these threads admit it.

I hate reality shows and never watch them -- until this latest Amazing Race. My daughter works with Millie, the female of the virgin couple, and so I have taken an interest in watching this reality show.

Thanks for posting this. Besides the fact that they say that they are married, I am confused as to why CBS even has a homosexual couple. And while I didn't watch the show I've heard they had a homosexual couple on previous seasons. Homosexuals are a very small percentage of the population, the media always tries to portray them as if they are the norm.

and loathe themselves will marry someone and claim that they are cured.
Spoken like a true homosexual whos buying into the homosexual propaganda and afraid of trying to change their behavior. Dr. Robert Spitzer who single handedly removed homosexual pathology from the DSM for political reasons affirms complete change is possible. Surely wanting and succeeding in changing ones wrong behavior can not be reduced to self loathing especially when achieving ones goals brings so much happiness to the afflicted.
Especially if "cured" means you can still fantasize about people of the same sex.
It can be at the beginning for SOME but as time goes by those feelings go away for MOST. And then there are some who fail and give in to their pathology and revert back to their old habits, it happens in all kinds of behavioral therapies, not JUST your pathology. What do ya say you give it a try?

Well, at least you got "true homosexual" right. Every day you get closer to a correct post...
"It can be at the beginning for SOME but as time goes by those feelings go away for MOST."
As madg used to say.. there are more proclaimed "alien abductees" than ex-gays.
I already read the twin studies, too bad they don't prove your point. As for your link to the brain studies, it's a cache and the links don't work.

I love the Amazing Race, and was anxious for this season to begin. I was disturbed by their description of Chip and Reichen as married. What a load of BS. Also, I don't care to know that there are two virgins on the show. Who gives a damn about the contestants sex life (the gay guys or the 'virgin' team)? I don't, I just want to watch them race around the world.
PS My favorite team so far is the clown duo.

But I was even more irritated about the Bible-believing young couple who have dated for some years but have decided to hold off on sex until after they take their vows. The little descriptor that pops up almost every time they appear on screen is "VIRGINS." Annoying, isn't it? My 10 year old was in and out of the room during the show. Didn't notice the "married" gay guys, but he did comment upon the couple "from Virgina".
