Nine illegal aliens have been arrested while working on the New Hampton Inn project in East Aurora.
Investigative Reporter Luke Moretti tell us the Building Trades Council blew the case open.
Buffalo Building Trades Council President Daniel Boody said, "All in the name of greed."
Greed, say these top area union leaders, comes in the form of illegal aliens found working on the Hampton Inn Hotel project in East Aurora.
Last month, nine undocumented workers from Mexico were busted by immigration officers.
"Approximately eight guys getting out of the van."
The case got rolling after the Buffalo Building Trades Council was tipped off.
Daniel Boody said, "...complaints by non-union construction workers that are layed off that thought they would be working here for that employer."
The project developer is Paul Bandrowski. Union officials say not only did Bandrowski have illegal aliens working on the seven million dollar, eighty room hotel project, they stayed at a residence he owns on Main Street.
Mike Barczys of Carpenters Local #9 said, "...hard for a guy and for a superintendent of that caliber to not know that on his site when he walks through nine illegal aleins are working there."
But Bandrowski tells us a sub-contractor handled the work detail and temporary housing. He denies having any knowledge of the situation.
Question: You don't have any knowledge of that at all? Aurora Ventures Chairman Paul Bandrowski said, "None at all. We would never condone it. We as a company make sure that every contractors we have, with every sub-contractor says that everybody has to be legal to work in the United States."
An immigration spokesman from Vermont tells me that nine illegal aliens were arrested on May 23rd. Eight have since been deported back to Mexico. One remains in the United States because of a criminal history.
Despite the labor setback, work continues on the East Aurora Hampton Inn, scheduled to open this summer.

I was watching this on the local morning news and they interviewed one of the contractors and he was SHOCKED to learn that none of these men had green cards!
If they INS can't or won't do their job, maybe the trade unions will start making some noise about illegal immigrants "taking-job-that-lazy-Americans-won't-do".

I assume a prosecution is being prepared.

They used them to build Home Depots around here.
That's why everyone around here shops at Lowes, which was built with local labor.

Illegal Irish immigrants have been working on construction sites in New York City for years.
One reason is that the contractor gets a superior product in addition to cost savings -- the training system for tradesmen in Ireland is so outstanding that the same guy who does carpentry work from Monday through Wednesday can also do electrical work on Thursday and plumbing on Friday.
I knew an Irish-American contractor in New York who would hire "his" people to work on his projects. He would pay off the union by hiring two of their workers, but upon arriving at the site these two guys were told to "do whatever you want all day, boys -- but just stay out of the way of my fellas!"

You can thank Asa--he's really stepping up enforcement lately. I keep reading about new deportations.

ACTION PLAN: Border Violators

Families of GWV workers are not permitted to enter US, nor will the birth of a child to one of GWV status confer citizenship to either parent or child.
8) Any violation of civil or criminal laws shall result in the forfeiture of the GWV and immediate return to originating country.
9) GWV holders shall be prohibited from claiming unemployment benefits, welfare support or free medical service.
10) The originating country of all GWV holders shall be responsible for any uninsured loss caused by the GWV, including emergency medical claims and/or claims resulting from illegal actions committed while in the US.
11) Companies who hire GWV holders shall submit to the immigration dept the name and GWV number of that individual so employed, along with a description of employment tasks. Companies who fail to report employment of GWV workers, or hire illegal workers shall be subject to penalty. GWV workers shall be paid with check, having income tax withheld. GWV workers shall not be subject to unemployment tax because they are not eligible for unemployment claims.
12) Border violators, or any non-citizen not possessing a valid visa, detained by local police for any reason shall be turned over to immigration officials for immediate deportation action, except if they face greater criminal charges.
13) GWV workers shall be prohibited for voting in local, state and federal elections.

Eastern Long Island has been making life a litter more difficult for illegals recently. Remember some story about how illegals were congregating at some train station or something out there for day jobs and liberals were up in arms because there were plans to develop the property or something and for the Mexicans to find another street corner. Glad they rounded this bunch up. Not all of NYers are liberal weenies!

Finally, something they can be useful for.

Not all of NYers are liberal weenies! No, but an awful lot of them are hypocritical weenies. Many of the same people who hired illegal aliens to trim the hedges suddenly made Pat Buchanan look like an advocate of open borders when those illegal aliens began peeing on those same hedges while waiting to get picked up on another job in the morning.

Now that wasn't so hard, was it?

Huh? When a profit making enterprise competes to make a profit, you call that greed? How about when union thugs go on strike to hold up businessmen for higher wages. Isnt that greed?
The case got rolling after the Buffalo Building Trades Council was tipped off.
Maybe someone should tip off the Unions that the illegal migration of cheap labor is fruit of their support of the Democratic Party. I know we hear about Republicans contribution to the problem. But, in reality, only the Republicans expend political capital to speak out on the problem.
Mike Barczys of Carpenters Local #9 said, "...hard for a guy and for a superintendent of that caliber to not know that on his site when he walks through nine illegal aleins are working there."
Why should they, private individuals, enforce immigration when the socialists entrenched in the US government wont? Look at the Ranchers in Arizonza who are condemned by Democrats for mounting a citizens patrol of the border on ranch land.
An immigration spokesman from Vermont tells me that nine illegal aliens were arrested on May 23rd. Eight have since been deported back to Mexico. One remains in the United States because of a criminal history.
Leave it to the government to keep the bad guys.

If they INS can't or won't do their job, maybe the trade unions will start making some noise about illegal immigrants "taking-job-that-lazy-Americans-won't-do".It's time. The unions have got to be unequivocal about this and report invaders who are taking US jobs. It's also time for tech workers and other non-union workers to smarten up. Anyone on work Visa who can be replaced by a qualified US citizen should be sent to their homelands, along with their families.
Maybe working through state agencies will be more effective than waiting for the US government to do its job, protecting and defending the US from invasion, will be.

some media report! ... they spell "laid" as "layed".
like other humans, illegals want the most money they can get. they may start with jobs that others don't want, but eventually they will work their way into higher paying jobs.
many times illegals will work for large farms for a while, ask for a raise, but be denied the raise, and they move on and up. meanwhile, the large agribusiness that hired them will look for an illegal-just-over-the-border with less english skills and knowledge of the economy.

No...
Greed comes in the form of unions who raise prevailing wages over what the market will bear, distorting the market for the benefit of the lazy and the stupid.

You're kidding, right? The AFL-CIO supports amnesties for these people. They only thing they see is filling up their membership roles.
And I am a retired AFL-CIO member.
