[history]
A rare bald eagle egg, produced by a pair of birds in captivity at Kentucky's game farm in Frankfort, was destroyed by state wildlife officials.
Officials said allowing the egg to hatch would violate their federal permit.
But an official from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said the state had another option

Sounds like something from the movie "Brazil," where no injustice can be corrected unless you've obtained and completed the proper forms in triplet.
Police doing a no knock raid by dropping through the ceiling.
"But you've got the wrong man! My Husband is innocent!"
"Sorry maam, we have a warrant with this address.
Man dies during interrogation. Family later discovers that data-entry clerk made a typo.
What has this got to do with bald eagles? Not much. More of a statement on bumbling bureaucratic injustice.

This is another fine case of "Dumb and Dumber" in government. Here we have trained biologists who the instant they see an egg, completely ignore any of the protective motherly instincts, and attempt to loot the egg from its mother. Then they act surprised when the eagles fight to keep the egg away from them.
"We knew we did not have legal authority to let the egg hatch," he said.
This is the pinnacle of government arrogance. Government, not satisified with slaughtering children in the womb, now claims to overrule Nature in writing enforcable laws that even bind eagles to bureaucratic oversight. IOW, An eagle can't hatch an egg unless some government drone approves it.
I love the different stories that they give. The administrator tells a story that basically says "give us more money or the eagles die", while the biologist goes into a CYA mode of blame shifting to another bureaucracy.
If I pick up an eagle feather off the ground and make something of it and sell it at a crafts fair, I have committed a felony and can face huge fines and long imprisonment. When government deliberately destroys an eagle, they get a chance to beg for rewards (ie. more funding).
Maybe we should "outsource" eagle management programs.

So, what did they do with the egg?
Fry it up with a side of bacon, toast & grits?
I just HAD to ask.
Silly bureaucrats deserve a silly response!

I am sitting here trying to think of a comment. I can think of none that adequately expresses the stupity displayed here.
Too much government, WAY too much government.
I have been looking and can not find any reference in the Constitution about regulating wildlife anywhere.

Liberals will cry in outrage that the eagle baby was not allowed to live, yet will say nothing about the MILLIONS of HUMAN babies killed by abortion.

It's straight out of "Atlas Shrugged", where people either cannot make decisions ("someone else should decide that. I might get in trouble") or make stupid decisions ("Larry said we can't have overtime, so ...")
Of course, in Atlas Shrugged all the heroes simply take action and get the job done one way or another. They don't waste time with bureaucratic nonsense. Bureaucratic nonsense gets people killed.

I have been ...for years.
Unfortunately my elected officials could care less about the oath they swore.
I do my level best to continue to replace them at election time, but the enemies of our republic seem to control all of the choices.
I really don't see much chance of our Nation surviving. We can handle a lot of things, but voter stupity, and treason at the highest level of government, we can not survive.
We must demmand that our elected officials DO THEIR JOB!
