Apparently, it isn't just Democrats who think George W. Bush is the Antichrist. A minority of religious conservatives are taking a second look at the 43rd president of the United States to gauge where the man who recently conquered Babylon fits into their parochial view of biblical prophecy.

Such talk, oddly enough, is limited to only a few extremist sites on the Internet.

I've said it from day one- there is something about John Edwards that gives me the creeps. When I first saw a picture of him, the first person that came to mind was Damien Thorn.

I'm not. A couple of weeks ago that nut case Chuck Baldwin had a column posted here in which he postulated this very thing. What we have here is psy-ops from the left.

They are trying to shave a few points in popularity by making some Christians believe that if they support the President they are falling into a nest of unbelievers.

There have been several posts to me from pseudo-conservatives hinting that I "worship" Bush. You have seen them as well.

Of course, my answer is "Piffle!" but that isn't the point. The point is to get a few naive people to panic that perhaps, just maybe, they have chosen unwisely, and at the very least get them to stay home from the polls.

Well, anyone who knows anything knows that the anti-christ's name is Nicolae J. Getty, and he is from eastern Europe. :)

Here's my belief. If Bill Clinton assends to any prominent leadership spot such as UN Secretary General, or (Heaven forbid) President again, then I think we'll all know the answer to who the anti-christ is. Or, at the very least, that another Clinton regime will usher in the time of the anti-christ. Anyone fool enough to believe that man can lead anyone, is fool enough to put faith in the anti-christ.

I have a friend who is an intelligent man, tough as nails, not particularly politically minded, who opined this same garbage over a year ago. No Christian sect or church believed in the "rapture idea" until the late 1800's.

The "rapture idea", a doctrine not taught by Christ Himself or his apostles, disciples, evangelists, or bishops for the first 1,600 years of theological history, suddenly appeared as a doctrinal innovation in the late 1800's. It may have been a reaction to the industrial revolution, or a reaction to modernism, or communism, or socialism. But it is definitely a relatively new belief.
