Even though this is trash, it does concern me that it's made it to the printed page. I have a friend who is an intelligent man, tough as nails, not particularly politically minded, who opined this same garbage over a year ago. Considering how hysteria is contagious among a segment of the population, I fear that we will hear more of this rubbish.

You're already right. This issue is far from confined to a tiny handful right now. I don't believe it, but there has been considerable discussion of it going on for some time among those who follow prophetically significant events, and it's recently been exacerbated by his zeal to divide the state of Israel.
