Chirac, thinking to himself:

I (an ancient Frenchman) prop up my aging body by leaning on the shoulder of President Bush.
In the same way, my ancient country has propped up itself by leaning on the shoulders of the American people.

I'll be able to stand upright, ... as long as Bush doesn't shrug.
