I guess all of the pencil-necked geeks out there can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Whats really sad, is the only time we ever have any news about wrestling on free republic, it has to do with a wrestler who died.
Freddie Blassie was truely one of the greats, and he will be missed.

Here's to ya, you old finger bitin' buzzard!! I remember the late, great Louis Grizzard had a lot of funny stuff to say about Freddie. Ole Louis is getting his super duper, very secret sleeper hold out of the moth balls and will have it waitin' on ya when you get to heaven.

I remember the great Blassie saying: "Sex is one of my three favorite activities; a martini before, and a nap after!"

It was just a week or two ago that they wheeled Freddie out for a bow on either RAW or Smackdown. He really didn't look too bad considering his age. A great character actor is gone.

Do you, or anyone else out there have any information about a wrestler from the 50's that went by the name of "The Scorpion", or something like that? It was a friend of mine's dad. They lived in Texas.

I was a fan of Vern Gagna, the Crusher, Dr.x, the Anderson's, the Bruser, and others of the AWA. I always read the wresting magazines, but could only get news on Bruno Samartino, Fred Blassie, and other wrestlers from different parts of the country. It used to piss me off that I could never get news about wrestlers I like in the Midwest. But I enjoyed the articles of all wrestlers and fallowed their carreers.
God's speed Fred, may you grapple with Gabriel himself.

I liked when he would bite a guy or hit him with a chair, and the referee would come over to admonish him, and he would threaten the referee and make him back away too.
He was a classic. I remember him well and just watched a tv special about him a few days ago.

This is shocking. I just saw him a few weeks ago on Raw and he looked about as well as someone can be for someone his age. I had no idea of his health problems.
RIP Classy Freddie

Freddie Blassie was great entertainment. Freddie Blassie, The Grand Wizard, and Lou Albano provided a lot of laughs in my youth, RIP Freddie.
