More whining.
And on another note - see how they referred to pro-life as "anti-choice"? Just pointing it out...
To: Hugenot
Nielson continued, The US anti-choice groups are powerful, well-funded and determined..." Nielson expressed his concern that the US decided to defund the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) because of its support for coercive abortion in China.
With "choice" being his major talking point, you'd think he and the prolifers would be on the same side in this instance.
Guess not...

Good news out of western Europe for a change.

My professor for intro to law, who is also a municipal judge in Seattle, used the term "anti-choice." We also got into it in class over the second amendment. You can always tell these types by the language they choose. Then again, the same thing applies to us, I guess.

I suppose that you're right. From their perspective, we're anti-choice. But the phraseology is always a good weathervane to see what vein the article is written in!

"anti-choice." vs 'pro-death"
To: Hugenot
"Anti-choice", huh. Where the blue hell is the choice over in China.
BTW - I was born after 6 months in the womb back in the 70's. 3 months early. I'd like to see these jerks try and defend their support for PBA.

Oh, only when it comes to killing babies, NOT when it comes to being a full citizen as the Founders intended.

You know, I'm strongly pro-life; but I'm about to the point where I'm ready to say, "Free abortions for all Europeans, Africans and Asians!"

To: Hugenot
I saw a bumper sticker once which said
Pro-choice before conception
Pro-life after
That pretty much says it all...

Been there, done that. Europe is depopulating as we speak, with low birth rates. These idiot Euros who think recognizing the humanity of the unborn is "extreme" but tyranny is not extreme have now taken their culture of death to its logical extreme: the physical suicide of a whole culture.

Abortioin is the socialist/communist way to prosperity! The fewer children that are born means that the "current resources" in the society can be utilized to maintain the aging....
With personal income increasingly flowing from the governments to the people, fewer children now means more "revenue" for "established" people. Keeping the population down for old folks means that as they reach their golden years, money for health care will be available and not have to compete with public education, maturnity benefits, etc. while at the same time the old folks maintain their "Vote" to edge the youth from voting themselves more of the pie.

The EU only has to have more children to see a negative effect on the social spending burden from taxiation for schools, health care, etc. By allowing immigration to ease the strain on the working people who want their consumer goods and health care for the living, the aging, etc., less money goes for schools and maturnity benefits - the working folks and retired maintian their lifestyles. While this has been part of the formula for Europe for the past 35 years, low birth rates and more expenditures on the existing people, much like Japan and other industralized countries the birth rates have fallen. Now, instead of looking at the policies and social norms that encourage abortions, low birth rates, etc., the EU is looking to increase its popultion through membership (read "new" people). The EU needs to now figure out a way to have more children themselves within the dimishing resources increasingly squandered by the current generation.

Hey, our "best friend" is Mexico is SUPPOSELY the leader of a "conservative party" and pro-life, maybe he'll speak out and support us on this issue-- especially since he LOVES to meddle in the social issues of other countries (given the way he's always attacking our death penalty system).
Yeah, and monkeys will fly out of my butt... ;-)
