Sorry, wardaddy - I should have been more clear - I meant that I watched a female FReeper verbally beaten up on another thread where the topic was abortion. She got the full Reginald Denney treatment, imo, and she got it from pro-lifers. It was ugly.

Of course, you're referring to Hildy on the Jane Russell thread. What you're ommitting is that fact that Hildy was snide, beligerent, nasty, callous and insulting from the get-go. Basically, she got what she gave, then cried foul and started calling in the moderators.

Also, you fogot to mention that most of Hildy's insults were directed at perfectly nice folks who merely promised to pray for her (sweet girl).

As far as I know, Reginald Denny wasn't cruising Florence & Normandy waving a confederate flag, flipping off black folk. That's more along the lines of what Hildy was doing. She wasn't attacked for admitting to an abortion (many others did that, none were attacked). She was attacked for being a self-absorbed, sociopathic jerk.

I have great respect for those who fought and gave their lives to preserve the freedom of their homeland.
I thought it would be interesting to use the arguments of some of the pro-abortion people on this forum against terrorists whose actions they believe were acceptable and see how they responded. I skimmed this entire thread in less than 70 minutes so I might have missed it, but I did not see any of the pro-abortion people give a cogent explanation of why they believed terrorism against past governments and "institutions" was acceptable but not against abortion. (I do NOT support terrorism against abortionists).
As for calling the "resistance fighters" radical terrorists, I believe that that term is factualy correct.
They were radical, or extremists, because they obviously either believed differently, or had different priorities than the majority of the population, and most certainly the legal government. Unless I am mistaken, the countries the Germans controled had unconditionaly surrenderred, hence they were under the authority of the German military.
They were terrorists according to the legal definition of terrorism, which is, if I recall correctly: Terrorism is the use of violence against a government or population to accomplish a political or religious goal.

For those who think that terrorism against the Nazis was effective, I would like to point out that in Poland, whenever a Nazi was killed by the partisans, 50-100 Poles were killed in retaliation, and 20-30 Jews in the KZs as well. Acts of sabotage like damaging bridges or trains were similiarly punished.
When the Nazi SS commander of Czecholslavokia, Reynhard Heydrich (sp?) was killed by a car bomb, the Nazis simply increased their executions of Jews and subversives and slaughtered the town of Lidice(sp?), killing around 350 people.
Violence simply breeds more violence. Fighting something bad with violence is like fighting a house fire with dynamite; even when such extreme methods work, they destroy much as well.

I don't know where Hildy stands at this stage in her life (on the thread in question, she said she was not speaking for abortion - only offering information from her own experience), but consider this: I've never heard of anyone becoming pro-life because someone tried to shame and humiliate them in an internet forum.
