Welcome to Burkas on Wednesdays.

We have links, lots of them.

Burka

A burka, burqa or burqua, also called chador, is women clothing covering the whole body, including the whole face. The eyes are covered with a 'net curtain' allowing the woman to see while other people can not see the eyes.

It is used by some Moslem women and was compulsory under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.

In the Netherlands a few students wanted to wear it in school, but this has been forbidden because the school educates for professions where non-verbal communication, also through facial expression, is required.

(when you wake up)

“I'm sorry I missed you this morning. How about for dinner?” (from yesterday)

Good Morning Kathy. No need to ever say your sorry...remember, you made me the breakfast yesterday! If I am right then today is Wednesday Pancakes although some it seems want waffles. As you wake up this morning I would have liked to post some hot cakes for you but I have no idea how to post pictures so you will have to accept my good intentions instead.

Through my visits to the canteen, besides learning that some of the regulars (who will remain nameless) have interesting senses of humor, it seems many are good with the posting of pictures etc. One day I would like to actually post but alas, my computer disability holds me back. A 21st century dude still living with a 20th century computer brain. It must have been all those days and nights frying at GILGO Beach..........

Enjoy your day!

God Bless and keep safe our troops.

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION

The light of God surround you
The love of God enfold you
The power of God protect you
The presence of God watch over you
Wherever you are,God is,
And all is well.
Amen.

Bless This House

Bless this house O Lord we pray;
Make it safe by night and day;
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out:
Bless the roof and chimneys tall,
Let thy peace lie over all;
Bless this door, that it may prove
ever open to joy and love.

Bless these windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heav'nly light;
Bless the hearth a'blazing there,
with smoke ascending like a prayer;
Bless the folk who dwell within,
keep them pure and free from sin;
Bless us all that we may be
Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;
Bless us all that one day we
May dwell O Lord with thee.

Good morning, Aeronaut and Otto, and thank you both for your dedication to the flyover of protection for our troops' Canteen, a place where we offer a "touch of home" for our troops, our veterans, their families, and our allies.
